I am having increased head pressure and squeezing/zapping spasms in my head (Between temples). Feels like someone squeezing an artery and leaves me momentarily disoriented. Can come on at rest but also happens when walking upstairs or lifting grocery bags. Sometimes get sweaty and nauseous when it happens, then I panic.

Went to ER, neuro exam normal. Preliminary results of MRI/MRA scan are normal. May resort to spinal tap to check for bleeding or intracranial pressure problem if it persists.

I am currently being treated for Bartonella with Rifampin and Zithromax, however I have had squeezing head pains BEFORE antibiotic treatment, but never related to exertion which scares the hell out of me (Stairs especially). Curiously this does not happen in the gym or NOT YET.

Does anyone know where I can get a reliable SPECT SCAN in Southern California comparable to the one at Columbia? Would hate to have to fly to NY for this.

Also seem to have increased irregular beats with the addition of Rifampin due to vagal nerve irritation.

Patient of Dr. H in Northern CA.

Thanks for any advice!

I know Dr. Amen has a web site and does spect scans.

I also know he has several places last time I was at his web site and you can email him.

http://www.amenclinics.com/

I do not know how lyme literate he is.

i've used Amen twice. according to my LLMD (Dr H in CA), they

will NEVER mention Lyme in your report.. regardless of your Dx,

the Dx code(s) used on Rx and/or referral from reputable LLMD.

scans & report are useful in assisting LLMD with Dx & Tx.. also

great support for Disability case. insurance does not seem to

care one way or the other (investigational & experimental BS). i

got mine paid but not without a fight.

personally Columbia will do a better job and most likely mention

Lyme. the only reason i used Amen a second time was to

compare scans.. per Columbia's suggestion.
