My husband and I are trying to decide whether to have another child ourselves vs. adopting a child.

We have a healthy 3 yr old and I miscarried once. Never had trouble getting pregnant.

For the last year, we've tried to conceive, but to not avail. My husband has motility issues.

We have an apptment to see a fertility specialist next week AND to see my LLMD and decide which option is best.

I am willing to do insemination or in vitro, but don't want to negatively effect the baby.

I also owe it to my son to be as healthy as possible.

Any opinions out there on pregnancy while having lyme's?

What will it do to my body?

Will I give it to a baby?

What about insemination and in vitro and lyme's?

Thanks a bunch!

ABP2626,

I plan on getting pregnant.

My doctor has given me the green light to do so.

He says that it's okay to have lyme and have a baby.

You have to be treated througout the whole pregnancy, though.

Also, you want to achieve a certain level of wellness before conception, too.

My doctor assures me that the antibiotics will protect the baby from getting lyme.

I don't know anything about IVG and lyme, though.

I am also going to try to get pregnant within the next couple of months, am 95% for awhile now. I have been off abx. for a year now, but will go back on abx (amoxy only) right around the time I am trying to conceive.

Good luck! Are you feeling pretty well now? It is hard to say how you will feel during/after pregnancy, I think everyone is different from what I have seen. Some women feel great and then crash after the baby is born, some stay well.

I think as long as you are on abx. the chances are that you will not give it to the baby (it is not a guarantee though, although nothing in life is really).

It is my opinion that lyme should not prevent you from having another baby!

My friend who has lyme is trying Invitro insemination now. She tried to get pregnant for a year with no success.

lymers- what abx. are you going to take once pregnant?

Good luck to both of you, Maureen

I have had children when I had Lyme and didn't know it. My lyme symptoms would flare and made it a little harder than for most, but it wasn't bad and my children are healthy.

I have also adopted one child from Russia. He was a toddler when we got him, so I think it was a bit more difficult than bringing an infant into your home, but it was also a beautiful thing.

Listen to your body. Do what will work for you. Get your LLMD on board if you get pregnant. Perhaps your pregnancies will be better than mine because you will be receiving proper Lyme care.

There are some natural things your husband can do .... do a Google search, it might be worth the trouble. If you can't get pregnant easily, perhaps that's God's way of saying adoption is right for you. Remember, stress can aggravate Lyme, so going through all kinds of fertility treatments might not be the way to go.

Just throwing out things to think about ....

Hi Maureen2174,

I will be on amoxacilin and possibly zithromax as well.

My LLMD told me it would be best to just be on

amoxicilin, but if we need to, I could be on

zithromax as well. I will leave it up to him to

decide.

What is your plan for abx during pregnancy?

Lymers

I would do whatever I could to detox my body first, before conception.

I passed heavy metals(mercury ) onto my children through my dental work. We are dealing with the effects.

I will be on amoxicillan too. I have my script, but have decided not to try to conceive until around november, so i will go back on abx. at that time. it was definitely nice being off them the past year, that's for sure!

Maureen, Is your story on how you got better in success stories?

What do you think helped you the most?

I would like to get pregnant as soon as I can...but I'm still pretty sick so it is frustrating. Just lookin' for a little hope. Sick of this!

Also, on www.lymefriends.com we have a club called "Girl Talk," and there is a really nice discussion going about pregnancy and Lyme.

It is nice to have all the people who want to talk about the issue in a club, where it's easy to find, in case the topic gets bumped down from lack of response, etc.

So I would encourage anyone thinking of conceiving to come join us, and perhaps share your stories/progress with us in the club, if you would like.

There are also women there hoping to conceive some day, that aren't quite ready, but are interested in talking about the options.

Here's an interesting article written by Hulda Clark in her findings about Parasites in the reproductive tract. Helpful to know before pregnancy.

Endometriosis

Many a woman's dreams have been shattered by her inability to have a child. Endometriosis is often the cause. It starts with painful cramps at period times. They get worse and worse until pain killers are necessary just to get out of bed and move about the house. There are flukes in the uterus! Large intestinal flukes in a rather small organ! Did they migrate to the uterus from the intestine or did they develop there from eggs?

Sometimes sheep liver fluke is seen there. Once an avenue to the uterus is established, numerous other parasites move in the same direction: Clonorchis, the human liver fluke and even Eurytrema, the pancreatic fluke, can invade the uterus wall. Why have they taken up so abnormal a living place? Because the uterus has solvents in it! This is the green light for flukes. This disarms your organs so they are left helpless against the fluke stages left there by the blood and lymph. Stop eating solvent-polluted foods. There are solvents in purchased drinking water. Drink from your cold kitchen faucet. There are solvents in grocery store bread, grocery baked goods and cholesterol-reduced foods. Eat none of these. Buy baked goods and bread at your local bakery. Stay away from "low cholesterol" foods. There are solvents in decaffeinated and other powdered mixes for beverages. Drink nothing except milk from the grocery story (sterilize it). Milk does not have solvent pollution. The hormones, antibiotics and udder wash can be tolerated -- solvents cannot.

Beverages and powdered mixtures sold at heath food stores are no exception. Use no powdered mixture intended for weight loss or weight gain, nor vitality supports, nor dietary supplements. They are all polluted. Some solvents (I often see methyl ethyl ketone and methyl butyl ketone) choose the uterus to accumulate in. This sets the stage for endometriosis and fertility problems. Where there are large parasites, smaller ones soon crowd in. All bring their own bacteria and viruses. Gardnerella, especially, is found in cases of endometriosis, ovarian cysts and menstrual problems. The flukes evidently travel from the uterus to other parts of your body cavity, distributing bits of the uterine lining as they go. Once this distribution has occurred, can the bleeding (regular menstrual bleeding) ever be stopped?

It stops immediately when the flukes are dead!

Your body knows how to clean up after dead flukes and does the job perfectly. You can be free of pain in time for your next period. Zap to kill the four common flukes, Gardnerella, all other common parasites, and urinary tract bacteria (common ones include Proteus, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Chlamydia, Trichomonas). Avoid reinfection by avoiding solvents! It is impossible not to pick up parasites. If your uterus has solvent in it, they will find their way to it in a day. Without solvent, they will not.

The solvents leave by themselves. Help your body get rid of them with vitamin C and B2 (3 grams and 300mg, respectively, daily).

To heal the uterus so it no longer attracts parasites, clear up its internal pollution besides solvents. This means mainly the dental metal that has piled up and environmental toxins such as asbestos, arsenic, fiberglass, and formaldehyde. Never try to get pregnant before you have cleared up endometriosis.

The advice given by obstetricians to get pregnant to solve your pain problem is most unwise. Indeed, pregnancy changes the body's metabolism and without periods you get pain relief. But it seems much too risky to grow a baby in an infested, polluted uterus. Fear of birth defects is an intelligent fear. Be careful not to get pregnant while you are killing parasites and getting mercury removed from your teeth.

Healing starts as soon as all the parasites and pollutants are gone.
