I see that some people are coming up with a "positive biofilm" report on their smear test from Fry.
Is this test done as a seperate test and with a seperate stain to the regular Fry test?
i had a Fry test done a couple of years ago and it was negative...but there was no mention of having stained or looked for biofilms. I am pretty sure that I have a significant problem with biofilms and am wondering if i should retest for this specifically.
Thanks,
anne

Hi, I just had those tests. You can see my test results in the post I just made. They are different tests but I am still confused about how many tests were in the panel I did vs others. On their website they have a test order form and you can look at that. I am seeing him (Dr F) in about a week and will find out more. If you don't mind sharing, what did yours say and did you different treatment after? Thanks. Lis

My result was just a "negative". This was about 18 months ago. I was on antibiotics at the time. I had called the lab and they said it didn't matter, but now I see that on the web site it says that you should be off abx for a good couple of weeks. I think that at that time they were not looking for biofilms.
I don't see anywhere on their site about a different test for biofilms.
I have very high Lead and am having chelation treatment with IV EDTA for that. I really HERX afterwards and I think that it is because the EDTA is breaking up the biofilm and releasing bugs..All i can do is speculate.
I'd be interested to hear what Dr Fry has to tell you next week.
