Some have said that that Hot water I soaked in could have possibly killed off alot and perhaps all the salt and baking soda created the alkalinity to do so as well.
Just this morning, I was Herxing so hard that I was crying like a little baby thinking I was dying.
Did a coffee enema and a "Warm" Epsom salt bath for the terrible aches.
A few hours later, I cleared up to almost normal, almost like I didn't have Lyme. Still a little achy, but that was it.
I threw my kids in the car and drove them to Friendly's, sat and had a great dinner. My kids were so excited to see their dad feeling better and out of the house.
There was no pushing myself to do all of this. I cried when we came home. My kids asked if I was feeling sick again. I told them no, it was just that I hated my house that was once my dream home that I designed myself. It was if I was being returned to my cell.
Shortly after returning home, many symptoms returned.
Just so some of you know, I have never had trouble with Epsom salt baths. I can put a full bag in with no problems and usually come out feeling so much better and energized a bit. So when I did the Salt and Baking soda, I didn't think it would be any different. So, in the end, another lesson learned.
I will try hot water alone first next time and if that doesn't do anything, I will add the salt 1/4 cup at a time and then the baking soda, but in a way to slowly introduce these ingrediants.
I guess I just wanted to f/u with you guys that even though it appeared the crazy bath did terrible damage to me, perhaps, some of you are correct that I did some damage to the Lyme & Co. as well and that I'm just Herxing.

So glad you had a bit of time when you felt better.
You wrote: Shortly after returning home, many symptoms returned.
Have you checked your house carefully for mold or other things that could make you ill??

I have not, how do you do this ?
My house is not even 10 years old. It's 5,000 Square Feet.
Where do I begin ? Are there detectors you can buy ?

Even new houses can have mold.
Have you had any leaks since you've been there? Any big spills on carpet that didn't get cleaned up right away?
Look in places where there is moisture. Check anything that looks wet as far as building materials. Check the attic, crawl space (if you have one). Look at the walls, under the sinks, in the HVAC ducts, the air conditioning pan. Check the bathrooms, basement etc. etc..
Our roofer found mold in the roof vent leading from our bathrooms. Make sure that nothing is vented to the attic. Make sure your clothes dryer is vented properly - to the outdoors and check to be sure your clothes washer is draining properly.
As far as other chemicals, look around. I think you can get a carbon monoxide monitor and a radon monitor in hardware stores. Are you storing any chemicals in your garage or house that you might have a sensitivity to? Anything that might be off-gassing like new carpet or new mattress, new furniture?
No need to answer my questions unless you want to. I was just trying to give you some ideas of where to look.
Edited to add: You can have your air quality checked. According to a lab recommended by a doctor that I saw, one can be allergic to protiens from bugs. You can have viruses or bacteria in the air that make you sick, tiny beetles can make you sick etc. etc. You can get testing for mold and all these things + more. I think it's around $340 http://www.microlabnw.com/

so wondering, with us living in tx and costal at that...there is contant humidity and even outside bricks can get mold over a weekend of rain...,how in the would could we stay on top of that ?? there is some serious humidity...and most of the year...
glad you were able to have few hr of "normal", i fully understand that !! hate it now that my kids are asking me how i am feeling beofre they ask a question....HATE it. not supposed to be this way. should be able to take em to park, walks, etc on normal basis-- like they are used too...so fustrating.
i use epsom salts, sometime baking soada and so far have not had bad reaction, helps the joint pain, muscle pain, and even headaches sometimes. only thing i have noticed is can make the neuropathy worse from the hot water...same with shower though.

Since you felt better in the house, maybe it was just a bad herx. In the beginning, I had very small "windows" of feeling almost normal. You will get better-it just takes time.
Your kids will be ok-they learn empathy. My kids saw mommy really sick for almost 2 years. I tried to spend time at home, talking to them. I couldn't do much, but I could listen and talk. Sometimes, my daughter and I just snuggled and watched her favorite shows.
Once I was better, she said-Mom, how come we never snuggle and watch TV anymore?
