I took 2 (that is 2 x 100mg pills) of artemisin 10 days ago and I am still extremely sick from the reaction.

Swollen liver, spleen, stomach spasms, horrible intestinal pains/cranial/dural tension, severe muscle pains in neck,shoulder,/fevers/internal vibrations.

This is my second go round with art. I lasted 10 days the first time in early June but since then my body has awoken to a raging babesia infection that I can't seem to control or tolerate treatment for.

I have a few question that I am wondering if anyone can help me with

1)does anyone know what specifically causes die off reactions with babesia?

2)does anyone have any suggestions on how to tone down symptoms? I am currently taking clay, activated charcoal, chlorella

3)has anyone else here ever had this type of reaction to artemisin?

I think I have had this particular infection at least 6 years, couldn't tolerate mepron (only did about 4 doses due to severe stomach cramping)and could never take any of the rizols (they all contain ozonated art) and did two sessions of beam ray on babesia setting several years ago which just about sent me to the hospital so all signs point to babesia.

thanks,

Diana

Sorry to hear you can't stand artemisinin. There were many posts in the past about some people reacting badly to it, one person even thought it was dangerous to use it.

I believe, artemisinin can cause severe die off rections. I don't understand your first question, but it just kills babesia and babesia is one of the worst critters that produce herx reactions.

I reacted very strong: my worst symptom was total body paralisy or extreme air hunger after artemisinin ingestion.

Later I managed to use it in controled doses and only under very good binders (chlorella, bear garlic and I think I added lots of MSM). It was for me the toughest of all herxes I ever had.

I did a long list of products I took for babesia here in lymenet. Search for 'babesia alternative herbs' or 'protocol' . I posted under hardynaka before. I didn't use rizols for babesia, if my memory is good. I hated the smell and taste of rizols. I used no drugs except for Riamet in the beginning. But it failed too.

Babesia was the toughest infection for me to get rid of. Second I think were fungal infections. Third were bartonella and borrelia.

Babesia will only go when you add a sort of cyst buster with treatment. I don't believe artemisinin is the ONLY answer for babesia, it helps some immensely but it doesn't prevent falling sick again.

My opinion, of course!

Jay has a good post on babesia treatment too, where he added primaquine with it. Search for his posts. I think he's the second person I see from lymenet getting rid of babesia with a different protocol than the usual mepron-zitro etc...

Good luck.
