Hey Laurie,

I'm in year three of chronic lyme and treatment. I've read your website over and over because it is so detailed and your symptoms are so much like mine. Especially are bond with the POTS and failed tilt table test.

Anyways I have a question to ask you and that is do you plan on getting the H1N1 vaccine? My GP says get it and my LLMD says no way. Also, do you have an opinion about this vaccination.

If you feel like answering that would be great if not I understand since it's a personal question.

Take Care,

KA

Hi there!

Thanks! I do not plan on getting the H1N1 vaccine. I don't trust vaccines much. Seems like this was developed way too quickly. I haven't thought much about it until you brought it up though. I'll ask around my medical associates, see what the consensus is. I'll report back. Thank you! [Smile]

Listen to your LLMD. Your immune system is already working overtime, 24/7. Why stress it making new antibodies.

Plus do you really want to be a guinea pig for a vaccine that has never be used before and was rushed in the making? In general, flu vaccines are a waste of time.

Well,

Maybe you should think about what catching H1N1 virus would be like.

I get a flu vaccine every year. Catching the flu, and the stress it puts on one's body, won't be helpful for fighting Lyme either. It can make things a lot worse. Plus, in my job, the flu would put me out of work for a week or more.

I haven't ever had a problem with the flu vaccine, even during treatment. But then, i'm not nearly as debilitated as some people are.

I haven't decided on the H1N1 vaccine yet, but I probably will get it. Snce we've had one death of a healthy 50 year old here in NYC this summer already, I think the risks of getting H1N1 are worse than the side effects of the vaccine.

If you get H1N1 virus, how will that effect you? Will it make you worse? Much worse? I guess you have to weigh the chances of exposure to H1N1 vs the vaccine.

James

just of note on the H1N1 vaccine...vaccine was PUSHED to be ready to prevent mass panic.

has been making its rounds in houston here in force !!!!!!!!!! so far, mild flu

you have NO recourse if any problems arise from you getting the vaccine. govt will not/can not be held liable....risky gamble

our household will not be doing flu vaccines.

??????? What to do. Thank you Wild Condor and others for the opinions. I know I have a very low Cd-57 score plus my IGg subsets are low and out of whack. So my immune system is taxed. I just wonder if I get the shot will it wreak more havock on me.

I think it will. I say a big fat NO to the vaccine.

I'm not one of the experts here but it makes no sense to me to inject toxins into our bodies when we are trying to to fight lyme and rid ourselves of the toxins already in us.

Your immune system is already taxed and working hard from the lyme. I would definitely not want to add to that.

Please Google Mercola H1N1, he has a lot of footnoted articles on the vaccine.

Some of the adjuvants in the vaccine are very dangerous.

I did some asking around. Seems that most doctors are recommending it for the general public. When it comes to weak immune systems though, caution is recommended. Lyme patients probably fall into the category of weaker immune systems. One PA I spoke to this am said that a Lyme patient of hers actually got the H1N1 flu and the fever that came along with the flu must have killed off some spirochetes because apparently she has never felt better than after getting the flu. Crazy world, but it makes some sense. I guess trust your instincts, ask your personal physicians, and decide what is best for you. [Smile] I would avoid the mall, and busy places and wash those hands often!

in the past i've gotten flu shots since 4-5 yrs. ago when i thought i was going to die since i was coughing fulltime and nose stuffed up fulltime; worst week i ever had in my life.

since then i've had them yearly & had hubby get them too.

my gut feeling this year is NO to both flu and hiney flu shot.

i also have diabetes 2; they strongly urge this type of illness to do it MANDATORY. next tues. night is a program about it, and i'm not going..
