I have been taking 400 mg of doxy each day.

Am about to go on my second full week.

Was tolerating it pretty well until last night. I took 2 (100mg each) pills and ate some cottage cheese/granola mix with it. Then threw up.

Is this normal?

You are not supposed to take doxy with dairy. I don't thing that is the reason why you vomited, however.

I don't think it's anything to worry about. Many people have stomach disturbances with it. Maybe it was a one time thing.

Doxy is rough on your stomach. I have to take it with food or it burns and make me nauseated. But *don't* take it with dairy, it will bond to the lactose and not be as effective.

Yeah take it with food. And sometimes if it makes you feel nausous, drink apple juice. I don't know why, but it helps...

definitely. If you don't have enough food in the stomach when you take doxy, you'll throw up. And in my experience the food can't be salad. I always had to have a relatively heavy meal, i.e., some protein and carbs.

Yes!!

Avoid dairy products with Doxycycline! that is probably what made you vomit.

Eat more food, like a full meal, then take your pills, drink plenty of water too and do not lie down for atleast 3 hours after or you can get nausea and heartburn. Stay OUT of the sun totally.

Wow everyone! Thanks for your quick replies.

I am going to make sure I don't take it with dairy from now on, that I have a full stomach, and remain upright.

Whew!
