k,

i did a quick search at the top of this page for 'magnesium' and found hundreds of links, but here is one for you:

Dr. B recommends Mag Tab SR... but there are other brands folks take on here.

Pure encapsulations mag glycinate, no fillers and pharmaceutical grade.

For some Malate does work better. You just have to try and see which works best for you but glycinate is said to be the most absorable form.

kareamber - I've taken most every kind of Mg supp around and found that I absolutely LOVE the transdermal Mg (MgCl). It works in 10-15 minutes and much less wait time when you have other meds to take.

Should you want to try it, pls start at 1/2 dose (~18 to 20 squirts) in a glass, mix 50/50 with water and I rub on my torso, arms and legs. The reason for starting w/half dose is because undiluted, it tends to sting and you need to find what level of deficiency you have. If you use too much, you will have loose bowels in about an hour. Also, 1/2 dose helps avoid cardiac arrythmias, should full dose be too much.

Magnesium glycinate is great, all other forms are not as effective. Its best to take it before bestime for increased absorption. Some people think Magnesium is bad for people with lyme (ecspecially bartonella) so be careful! I couldnt take it at all until a year of bartonella treatment.
