Hey everyone,

I woke up this morning with a itchy/bumpy/red rash above my armpits on the underneath of my arm. Tonight I noticed that I have what I think is an enlarged gland in my armpit - uncomfortable and pretty big. I'm very tired.

Are these symptoms popping up from the lyme disease? Anyone else experience anything like this?

Thanks everyone!

UPDATE: It has been 4 weeks and the gland is getting bigger and expanding down my arm. My upper arm is swollen and feels constricted and I have a small area on my lower arm that is hard and raised.

I've been taking olive leaf extract as directed for 3 weeks but haven't seen improvement.

Should I be worried?

Thanks
Michele

It could be an infected lymph node. My son had this and had to be hospitalized with IV antibiotics.

I've had the same thing but doctors wouldn't do anything. It was very painful too.

It sounds like a VERY swollen lymph node. And yes, they hurt.

We have lots of lymph nodes/glands throughout our body.

They drain slowly...very.

From Mayo - what lymph nodes are:

"A lymph node is a small, round or bean-shaped cluster of cells covered by a capsule of connective tissue.

The cells are a combination of lymphocytes -- which produce protein particles that capture invaders, such as viruses -- and macrophages, which break down the captured material.

Lymphocytes and macrophages filter your lymphatic fluid as it travels through your body and

protect you by destroying invaders."

A really badly infected and swollen lymph node can lead to complications and hospitalization with IV abx. may be needed.

See your doctor asap.
