My wife's llmd thinks it is possible, but not gauranteed.

In addition to attending to the infections (and heavy metals), though, thorough nutrition consideration (food, supplements) will help feed the tissue to regenerate as best possible.
Attention to mitochondrial dysfunction is helpful.
A gluten-free diet will also give a better chance. Liver support and protection, too, is essential since a damaged liver affects overall health and energy.
Search for a medical mushroom called Lion's Mane. It's real name starts with an "H" - it has been helpful to help "MS" patients gain ground with nerve regeneration.
d-Ribose, too, has some promise.
Massage can be very helpful to the regeneration processes, too. Not just for the working of the tissue and add to the liver's detoxing job, but also some very good connections and chemical processes occur in the brain from a therapeutic massage. -
