what is the general consensus among you all...are we "lymies" more at risk IF we get the flu vaccine OR not ?!
My doc says it is up to me...but I don't know...he said stay clear of the H1N1...but the regular would ONLY make me sick for a day or 2 !?
I am too sick already !
I caught a cold on top of this darn lyme and I am scared to "catch" anything else...anybody ?
Appreciate any input... [shake]

I wouldn't take any vaccine now that I'm better informed. Check out this youtube from Dr. Russell Blaylock. It is the 2nd part of a 4 part youtube session with Dr. Mercola.

http://tinyurl.com/ykdg8j3

This goes deep into the questions about vaccine effectiveness and vaccine safety. I would also suggest you have your doctor try to refute Dr. Blaylocks assertions.

Good luck.

I wouldn't take it, for the reason it also has adjuvants added to it, like formaldehyde, aluminum, mercury and lipid squalene.

People have gotten auto-immune reactions to vaccines, and lipid squalene has been shown to cause infertility.

I'm so confused about this topic myself.

My LLMD told me not to get the flu vaccine, but my other LLMD told me to get it.

Then, I called Dr. J (pediatrician) and his office said the doctor is recommending that all his patients get both the seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 vaccine.

So, I took my son in to get the seasonal vaccine on Tuesday.

He seems fine.

Wow. I can't believe Dr. J recommends both. Sometimes I don't know what to think about the vaccines either. I don't want them myself, but sometimes I can't help but wonder.

I have Lyme and found out today I have the flu. No official test, just clinical by my CDC Dr. No he is not a quack, even uses Igenex. He has been treating me for about 2 years.

We are pretty sure my Lyme is dormant, cured, whatever. Not active.

I had my regular 6 week check up today, Firday. On Wed I had crazy fatigue and had to take a nap. On thurs I woke up with a killer sore throat and my ``herx'' rash I used to get on my legs. My son came home from school (he's 4 treated for congenital lyme) and vomited 7 times. Today I had killer back pain.

Something was off on my blood work too, CBC, not sure what it was.

So today I saw my Dr and he said I had the flu and gave me and both kids tamiflu. None of us have had a fever but my Dr was sure it was flu.

So far, my oldest son doesn't have one flu symptom.

my Dr agrees I should not get the flu shot - especially the live nasal spray - or H1N1 shot.

I'm not on my death bed by any means, but not great either. I'm not exactly comfortable leaving the house, ya know that uneasy feeling.
Maybe my story will change tomorrow. Not like it matters because moms are not allowed to be sick.

My two nieces up north have confirmed H1N1. The 9 year old was sent home from school and went to the dr and diagnosed and the next morning the 7 year old woke up coughing after going to bed feeling fine.

Its enviable I hate to say. Especially if you have kids. One kid gets it at school and bam...the entire class has it. That's what happened to my son in about a 3 week timeframe.

My guess that we have seasonal flu rather than H1N1 is because we live in FL and it is still 90 outside as opposed to cold weather that can bother the lungs.

thanks for the input you all... [Wink]

I am still undecided as to what to do based on what I have read...

but if I listen to myself...I am hearing NO...mostly because of being
sick with a cold now already and not wanting to add another battle to the mix...

but it is a fear...one way or the other...

The vaccines include some nasty stuff like thermasol, (mercury) squaline and formaldyhyde. The shots can be worse for us than the flu. Plus you don't really get much protection from the flu from the shots anyway. It gives many a false sense of protection.

I say NO to flu shots and most other vaccines as well. The flu shots always made my asthmatic son extremly ill. We stopped getting them for him years ago. Now that I know more about them, I will never get one again unless they change how they make them.

Hi Lymie in MD... [kiss]

that was very informative...the "youtube" interview you posted the link for !

I am definately NOT getting the vaccination...either one... after listening to Dr. Blaylock..

I had the flu so bad, two years in a row, many years ago and

hence got the flu vaccine every year since , as I could not envision living through it again...

but that was before I got sick...

though maybe I already was sick...

weird coincidence maybe...

but I never felt I ever fully recovered my health since having those flus...I feel that they left me in a weakened state ever since...

so I got the shots but...

I always get a reaction from the shot...a few days of mild flu symptoms...

I wonder if these past years of vaccinations have contributed to worse health and helped along the lyme...

I was only diagnosed a year ago with lyme...but I have not been well for many years...hhmmmm

twingirl

thanks too... [Wink]

Dr. Blaylock says there could be a direct link between the higher #'s of asthma and diabetes in children
these days and the increase of #'s getting vaccinated...

the nasty stuff creating new diseases ?!

thanks all you good peeps for responding...I felt I had to make the decision really soon but was so conflicted I couldn't...

one less stress now ... [Smile]

I had been so adamant against getting any flu shots, especially the H1N1 shot, and now on today's news they were all over with the horror stories again about how the H1N1 is killing perfectly healthy people, especially kids.

So now I'm all beside myself upset and don't know what to do.

For myself, I'm not getting the shots, but I just don't know what to do for my kids.

Undecided here too.... Dr. J does recommend both & so does my son's pedi. Totally unsure what to do for him though. I did have my 8 yr old asthmatic daughter get the regular flu shot. Before I started having her get one, she had pneumonia three years in the row.

They are both on the "list" to get the H1N1, but honestly thinking we might pass. Think my daughter already had it anyways.

you can't believe everything you read or hear on TV...

I understand your angst Starfall and sOngbird when it comes to

making decisions for your kids...

when my daughter was born I didn't want to vaccinate for many

of the same reasons that still exist...

in the end I did because I thought that I couldn't live with myself

if she ...for instance contracted polio for which I had not had her

vaccinated...

You have to decide for yourself...I just spent hours here on this

site...reading all I could find ...and made my decision...

just pray for guidance...

if you have already done your homework and still

are not sure...maybe your intuition...or God...or higher power...

whatever you may believe in...will help...

I would say though... thatif one has already had it...then it's a

done deal right ?...no need there...the regular flu shot seems to

be safer than the HINI...if Ihad to choose...
