So I started running a fever and the left side of my neck was swollen and hurting. All the docs said it would be a blood clot and a serious condition. Once the ct scan with iodine could they tell that they were just inflamed lymph nodes and surrounding tissue. They gave me iv amox and a script since my ceft and PICC will end this Monday

Glad you got treatment. Be sure to take probiotics and liver support. If you are seeing a LLMD, they would likely have mentioned that but if you need more information on those, just ask and someone will explain more.

The penicillins are known to cause yeast issues. I would recommend a good probiotic on top of your dannon and activia.....Culturelle, VSL3, theralac, Primal defense, are some suggestions.

Plus, taking something called Saccromyces Boulardii, Jarrow Formulas at Vitacost.com can help prevent c-diff issues.

For liver at the minimum, Milk Thistle. N-AC is good, dandelion.

Lots of info here with a quick search.

Did you mean DanActive? I searched and see that is a probiotic dairy drink. Activia is also a yogurt. Check the sugar content. Best if no simple white sugar is used.

Also these yogurts don't have the full range of probiotics that you will get powder form or capsule that offer a higher number of probiotics. Some Rx and dairy do not mix so be sure to check the details on Amox.

Liver support: Milk Thistle or NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine) will help protect your liver from excess toxns (from infection and from meds).

Yes, definitely get some "real" probiotics. The stuff with sugar can be counterproductive.

hope you feel much better soon!

Probably discuss with your doctor:

I take the following for blood clots:
Vitamin E 400 3x
Fishoil 3x
