Feeling very tired lately and have lymph nodes popping up under my arm, behind my ear and on my neck not to mention feeling very swollen or fat lately too.
Went to my local doc and he ran a thyroid test and a hhv-6 test (that was embarrarsing)! Results are back...
Thyroid - although in normal range they have been increasing over the last 2 year (I got sick 2 yes ago) and given the fact that I've put on 20 pounds over the last 6 months and I'm retaining water he thinks I could benefit from a low dose of Cytamil (another med-arrrrg).
The hhv-6 came back off the charts! Haven't heard from them regarding what they want me to do.
Should I send this info to my llmd?
Anyone know if these two things could be causing the lymph node issues?
I already have a hard time taking the meds llmd prescribes but to add more to the equation.
Feel like i'm falling apart. Thanks for listening.

Yes - I'd send the results to your LLMD. Many Lyme patients have thyroid issues develop.
No reason for embarrassment about HHV-6.
It's not an STD, and *not* the genital herpes or even one which causes cold sores - hope that makes you feel better.
Those viruses are in the herpes family too - but they are simplex 1 and 2.
HHV-6 is common in children and the cause of infant Roseola - lots and lots of babies get this, in fact wikipedia calls it "near universal."
It stays latent in the host, for life.
Could be that with your immune system low because of Lyme, the virus is active again and running rampant.
Also - I don't have a link about this, but have seen Dr H (NY) speaking at a conference and he said that herpes viruses can be transmitted by ticks.

UPDATE - My local doc's office called earlier today. For the HHV-6 he wants me to start Olive Leaf Extract and Cat's Claw - Saverento. No recommendation for an anti-viral med.
I'm not familiar with these two things but I'm sure I can find them at the organic store. Do these cause a herx?
No mention of treating the large swollen lymph node under my arm or the edema.
Maybe he feels that treating the very mild hypothyroidism will help with these symptoms.
I faxed everything over to my llmd and will hopefully hear something from them tommorrow.

Cat's claw may cause some lyme herxing. I haven't used the others for viruses.
If your thyroid tests seem a little off, try the cytomel. It may help.
I'm hypothyroid. Blood tests are not always useful when you have infections and other variables at work.
Reasonable experimentation may make you feel better which is preferable to a piece of paper that says your blood levels look OK or somewhat OK.
