For a long time my daily temp was 95.5 to 97.0 - then in the late afternoon temps would go up to 98 or so bringing on feverish feelings.
I think this is relatively common and other will probably report back with similar observations.
LLMD had anecdotal mentioned that perhaps because the bacteria is heat sensitive that it down regulates body temperature to better proliferate (?)

Yes it is very common. Right now they have no solid explanation other than it is a stealth bacteria capable of altering its environment to its benefit. Hopefully some new insights will come with the upcoming conference in DC.

Yes, I have had this too. My "normal" temp for years has been between 96 and 97. When I hit 98.6, I feel feverish and achy.

As others have said, it is common in lyme patients. Lyme seems to mess with the autonomic nervous system - controls blood pressure, temp etc..
Have you had your thyroid checked recently? That may be one cause of a lowered temp.

I have this too. When flaring or herxing my AM temp can drop from normal of approx 97.2 down to 96. 3, give or take.
One morning when really bad, with both legs locked into full spasm, my temp was 95.3.

Yes. The opposite can take place too, but apparently from what I've heard around here is that co-infections can also be suspect when fevers are running (even with Lyme in the picture).

Yes. I really wish it were the opposite. At least when you have a fever your body is "cooking off" viruses. My temp stays between 95 and 97 degrees. Usually in the mid 96 range. If my temp gets up to 98, I feel feverish even though doctors will say it's normal.
My 6 yr old son is the same. His temp stays in the low 96 range

My temp. upon waking is 96.8. and goes up into the 97's during the day.
Lyme does not like heat right? Which is why exercise can cause a herx. Makes sense then that lyme can cause a low body temp. if that is it's best breeding ground.
IMO. it could be other things as well that could be primary or secondary to lyme such as; low adrenal function or underactive thyroid.

My temp stays in the 97's. Last time I checked it was 97.2, and the reason I checked it is because I felt like I was running a fever.
Before LD, my temp was a perfect 98.6

When the cycles of fever are present, it's 97.2 when I wake up then 99.5 or higher by the evening
Like right now. 99.5.

Low body temp is an indicator of HYPOTHYROID that doesn't get found with the usual thyroid blood tests.
There is an entire protocol based around this--Wilson's Temperature Syndrome or Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome. You can find it easily on the internet, plus he's got a book out about it.
Having a sub-active thyroid can cause many symptoms AND can cause osteoporosis, so in my opinion getting this handled is a major concern.
I treated with this protocol for two years, and was never able to get my temperature to stabilize close to normal.
THEN, I found out I had Lyme!!!!
Lyme DEFINITELY messes with thyroid function!!!!!
After 7 months treating Babs and some months on Allergie-Immun, my temperature stabilized around normal.
Unfortunately, it's now sliding back into the sub-normal area.....
UGH!
I keep that thermometer handy!!
By the way, this is one major reason that I'm still interested in the Marshall Protocol. Many of the participants report very swift improvement in thyroid function.
Best,
