Been a while since I've been here but I have started having some vision issues and I wondered if I might get some feedback here to help me decide if this needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

Once last week and again yesterday I laid down with my son to get him to nap. I closed my eyes for about a half an hour. Both times when I got up and opened my eyes, the vision in my right eye was blurry.

My normal vision returned in an hour or so. Yesterdays episode also left a small, pin head sized spot where it looks like a blood vessel popped. And today my right eye just feels weird - I can't even describe it - almost like the eyeball itself feels swollen a little.

Yesterday and today I also had a moderate headache. Can't remember about a headache last week when this happened.

My eye exam last year was normal. I have an appt. with an opthamologist on the 12th. Just wondering if I should be more aggressively pursing this. I sure don't want my vision to be permanently affected!

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/advice.
Aimee

I've had blurry/foggy vision and a blind spot. After a vision check, dx was opthalmic migraine. I've learned by experience that it happens to me if my thyroid levels get too low, which for me is a TSH of 0.1 or higher. Yes, a TSH of 0.1 is normally hyperthyroid, but the infection mucks with thyroid hormone action such that I need a low TSH (i.e. high hormone levels) to function at all. The possible connection: high levels of thyroid hormones tend to boost GABA, and GABA tends to inhibit migraines.

My vision is always blurry when I wake up, for at least an hour, and when I lie on my side it takes me half an hour for that eye to be "normal" whether I was sleeping o rnot

I think it mus tbe neurological some how

However when this happens I do not have a headache or any broken blood veseels, so it may be different!

I gave up on my vision a long time ago.. and it has gotten more blurry as I treat more aggressively and more blurry over time.

I hope to have some improvement as i get well...

I have a rife machine that has LED attachments and they claim to improve blurry vision using the LED on your eyes.

I have not tried it yet.. but found that interesting.

DO NOT USE THE LED'S DIRECTLY ON YOUR EYES!!!

Google that, warnings should be everywhere.

For about a month and a half earlier this year, my vision changed just about every day. I've worn glasses since I was a small child, so I first thought I just needed new glasses.

My LLMD told me to hold off on getting new ones, since it was likely that this was Lyme acting up and my vision would probably stabilize soon.

And after a month and a half, it did. I still need to update my glasses prescription, but I always have to do that every year or two anyway.

However, if vision changes continue and your LLMD isn't sure what's going on, you might want to see an eye specialist to be sure there's not something else going on.

Thank you all for your feedback, I appreciate it!

I was lucky to get a cancellation appt. with an opthamologist tomorrow. I am pretty sure it is Bartonella causing me problems again but I don't want to take any chances with my eyesight so better safe than sorry in my book. Hopefully everything will check out fine tomorrow.

Hi - I fixed my eye problems by drinking mangosteen juice. It's an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant juice that can clean up free radicals. All eye symptoms were gone within 24 hours.

There are lots of brands - I get the Ultra brand with 70 minerals added. If you try it, go slowly and drink a lot of water too. I still drink a little every day.

Just before I started the juice, I went to a top opthalmologist who did all his testing and I came out normal, even tho he had to anesthetize my eyes for me to be able to look at light.

Normal test results altho I couldn't look at the light, had eye muscle pain, blurred vision, and floaters. He gave me steroids but I knew better. Did the juice the next day and haven't looked back.

I have Lyme and no co-infections.
