Does Nystatin work the same as olive leaf extract or Oregamax?

I think Nystatin would actually be cheaper for me since insurance will pay most. How many should I take per day?

I am really battling yeast right now. I have taken diflucan for 3 days and want prevention now.

Thanks,
Jen

I had thrush even before starting abx for LD, but it got even worse after I started abx.

Diflucan did nothing for me.

Nystatin is very safe. I ended up needing 2 tablets 4 times a day for several months to beat back the thrush.

I now take a maintenance dose of 4 to 6 tablets per day.

You need to begin slowly with the Nystatin. Just a warning.

In the beginning, I worked my way up to 16 tablets a day. Stayed there one week, I think.

Then went back down to maintenance dosage of 4 tablets a day.

I would alternate it with natural stuff. I've heard that Nystatin can make you end up with resistant candida strains.

So I would mix things up a bit!

PS.. I'm sure the same thing can be said about Diflucan.
