Many thanks to all the members of LmymeNet who share their personal stories and opinions. You have helped me and my family in so many many ways.

I have read the threads on Rocephin, sugar and yeast and feel a little better knowing that 1hr after IV-ABX running out and buying a disgusting bag of candy and snarfing it down might be "normal".

Could anyone offer me suggestions on:

* Time of day for IV-ABX? I started a noon but it trashed my whole day. Anything wrong with end of day?

* Sugar Madness - Will these cravings pass? Are the probiotics sufficient? Since reading these boards I'm committed to eliminating sugar.

* Brain Fog - today at 90 minutes post infusion I got "lost in time" - forgot how old I was, what country I was living in, which city, whether and to whom I was married and my partner's name. Much worse than before IV-ABX. Is this a "normal" reaction to Rocephin

* Excreting spirochetes - what besides H20 helps? Do I want to add psyllium?

Again, thank you all for your time and suggestions. I know that all of us are unique in our responses to treatment and that none of us are physicians. But in many ways we are stronger as a group than one-on-one with crazy non LLMD's. All suggestions are appreciated and welcomed.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up infusing at 6PM so that the awful side effects don't trash my day (just my evening ha).

I couldn't figure out the page 2 reference... sorry if this is newbie stupid, but was there a help document you were referring to?

She was saying that this ended up on OUR page 2.. so she replied to it , bringing it back to the top so others would see it.

Look in the upper right hand section of the page. You will see numbers .. those are page numbers. Lots of info there!! [Cool]

I never had IV, so I can't help you there.

I do know that the sugar cravings won't stop as long as any yeast is present... so the beat goes on.

See this link for a strategy to eliminate yeast:

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/021412.html

Sometimes you need more than just probiotics. Like something to KILL yeast. There are natural things listed above in the link, and there are things like Nystatin and Diflucan.

Many of us take Nystatin as a preventative and then take Diflucan if the yeast gets out of hand.

Hi NYC,

If you are on once daily IV antibiotics you should be able to infuse at any time of the day. Just pick a time that works for you and be consistent.

When I was on daily Rocephin I had to infuse at night because of my work schedule. I was already tired and felt terribly by then so I don't remember the infusions making me feel any worse.

About the sugar cravings. They come and go for me. Some days are bad. Others i'm not tempted at all. Chewing some sugar free bubble gum or eating a small piece of rich super dark chocolate helps satisfy my cravings without totally crashing the diet.

Also, try to eat regularly (meaning every couple hours). That will help keep your blood sugar from dropping. When i'm hungry i'm much more likely to cave to the sugar temptations.

The brain fog question, wish I knew how to tell you to get rid of that. I really struggle with it too. Some days are worse than others.

Many people suggest sipping lemon water. Squeeze a fresh lemon or two in a cup of water. It helps sometimes. Not so much with the brain fog but it does help relieve the general feel bad fluey kind of symptoms.

Hope you start feeling better soon [Smile]

Sugar madness

I've mentioned this before and I read it out of the book Sugar Busters. Peanut butter on a healthy cracker really helps me.
I have seen other posters that say almonds diminish their sugar cravings also.
It has been so long that I have read the book that I don't remember exactly what it counteracts but it works for me.

NYC,

How long have you been on Rocephin? Are you feeling any better?
