Which product do you take and what dosage? I read that Florastor kids has an ingredient to prevent stomach upset. Should adults take it?

I have been taking ABX for 4 months and did not know I should take FloraStor. I just bought olive leaf extract yesterday and now discovered I cannot take it if I take Florastor.

I didn't know if your topic was a question or a statement. I took it as a statement.

I've never taken Florastor. Took abx for 4 yrs.

I took PB8 (which was lousy) and later found Theralac. It's awesome.

I'm sorry...it was a question. I am worried about C. diff. I have never had it, but Lyme is enough to deal with! I think I will hold off on Florastor for now.

You should take Florastor anytime you are on antibiotics for the prevention of c.diff.
I wouldn't bother with the olive leaf, what is that going to do to prevent c.diff? Nothing.
FLorastor kids is fine. Make sure you take probiotics too.

What daily dosage of Florastor kids is adequate?

Thanks!

I thought you were supposed to seperate dosage of probiotics and Florastor. Did I misunderstand this?

No.. but only because we can't afford it for a family of 5 to take it every day.
We just do the best we can with yogurt, Good Belly drink and whatever refrigerated probiotic I can find on sale now and then.

Antibiotics don't kill yeast by definition, the only drugs you would not want to take at the same time as florastor are anti-fungals (diflucan, nystatin, etc).

Found this:

Q) Is Florastor safe to take while taking other drugs? (Vitamins, dietary supplements, prescription drugs)

A) Yes. Florastor is not affected by and will not interfere with most medications. However, Florastor should not be taken with oral systemic antifungal medications such as, Fluconazole, Nystatin, Ketoconazole, or Itraconazole. Natural antifungal or carminative like therapies such as, Garlic, Grape Seed extract, Oregon Grape, or Berberine, do not seem to disturb or affect the action of the Saccharomyces boulardii lyo in Florastor.

LLMD told me he to get sure and get a good probiotic. Other than that, he prescribed ABX, Nystatin liquid for yeast (which I learned has sugar) and Diflucan. I ditched the Nystatin and take Diflucan about once a week. I can't get past the yeast issues.

I just thought it would be wise to add Florastor, but I guess I can't with the Diflucan.

What happens if I do get C. diff?

Interesting....I take Diflucan, but maybe I should switch to an antifungal and add the Florastor.
