I have a hard raised sore bruise on the outside of my right knee, below the hip where I injected a B12 shot this morning. At my 1:00 doctor's apt. today my BP was 130/80, but has always been right around 120/60. I just noticed the bruise tonight about 7:00.

Just wondered if anything like this has happened to anyone else. Could this just be something weird from the shot?

Hey there twinkle... you little star you.

I am NOT a doctor.. and I know nothing about your medical history... but...

If the injection was done properly... and I will assume you've done this before...

It normally won't cause a bruise on your knee if your shot was in the hip.

Unless, of course, you have no thighs at all and your hips sit directly on your knees.

Could you have knocked into something and forgotten about it?

Sometimes I won't bruise for several days.. so this might be something you have to think back on.

As for the blood pressure difference...

Again I am not a doctor but that change in BP from what you normally see, can be had easily... and could be caused by many things.. a cup of tea... stress... herxing... med changes... a cold day... etc etc etc...

It is NOT at a dangerous level at all... so unless you have other reasons to suspect a problem ... I wouldn't loose sleep over it.

Again.. I am NOT a doctor and if you have medical questions, you would need to contact one and follow their advise. Ok?

Thanks,TC and Polly,

I was thinking the rise in blood pressure might have signaled a blood clot and that the injection might have caused it. Never having had or seen a clot, I was wondering if anyone who self-injected meds had had a clot from it. I have been giving myself these shots for about 6 months and they definitely alleviate my brain fog.

I assure you, TC, that my hips and knees are where they should be!!! It does seem a little far-fetched that the injection would have caused a clot. I will see my nice, understanding, but unimaginative GP dr about it; he does understand about lyme, won't treat me for it, but will work with a lyme dr.

The blood pressure rise was probably caused by my hoping that this internal med guy would be somewhat knowledgeable about lyme, and being pretty sure he wouldn't be. He wasn't!

It's hard to talk to these Drs. w/o mentioning lyme. They just don't want to talk about it. I asked him right at the beginning if he knew about chronic Lyme, and he said just what he had read about it in school and he has never heard of it here. I will try his meds for his diagnosis of IBS to see if it works. Just minor meds.
