Is it really possible to be bitten on Saturday, start doxy 200mg a day on Monday and be herxing already?
5 days after being bitten and 4 days after staring treatment or is this just the disease symptons starting?
I've been through this twice and now a third time - I forgot how rough this whole process and herxes were!
This is a new bite and I was symptom free for almost three years. I'm not looking forward to doing this a third time - the first two were rough as I'm sure everyone here already knows.
Sorry just feeling lousy: dizziness, blurry vision, burning in my legs, emotional
Thanks for listening, Scott

If you truly were bitten 5 days ago... many believe that it is still localized.
This means medication would clear you up fairly easy.
But I'm not sure with you having been bitten before.
You show neurological symptoms. That would indicate that it has spread.
Sounds like the medicine might be herxing from the previous Lyme that you state to of had.

i was started on two weeks of doxy within a week or so of being bitten. unfortunately i couldn't get anymore and went chronic six months later.
i'd say it sounds like maybe you've been bitten before maybe.

Keebler repeatedly stated it's in your nervous system after 24 hrs. Posts: 7545 | From The 5th Dimension - The Twilight Zone | Registered: Mar 2008

Thanks for the input - this board has always been so helpful!
I've definitely been bitten before - this will be my third time.
I'll have to search for Keebler - I'm not sure who that is.
I was wondering if my reaction was from previous times but three years is a long time and I was rifing once in a while with no reactions at all so I'm guessing it is a new infection.
Time to get the machines dusted off.
Hi Lymetoo - hope you've been well!

I'm sorry to hear about the new bite, Scott. Whenever I started a new med, I always herxed right at day 4.
