I can only pulse the meds I take because I get very high liver enzymes and I had a severe yeast infection which I do not want again but I also used rife in between the last time I was sick - around 3 years ago.
I'm back again because of a new bite and I am doing the same thing - 3 days on doxy and I herxed on day 4 then 3 days with nothing did a rife session and herxed 2 days later.
It worked previously for me and hopefully it will again. Make sure you check with your doctor - this is just the way I do it, everyone is different.

Yes yes.. I have had to pulse abx for many years. I on IVS right now so that is a bit different But for the years prior I pulsed and cycled. IF I did not pulse I suffered too much herx and side affects and I feel I still got the benefit of treatment without as much suffering.
Everyone is different though. Some can take abx without a problem or even feel better immediately and want to stay on them to stay feeling better.
There are some doctors who use this techique on all their patients

I think pulsing may be the best way to go.
Antibiotics make them go to cyst form and
antibiotics can't hit. You have to tease them out
and hit them before they can propagate again. Some
borrelia are know to take 90 days to do this so
time is on your side.

I don't see the need to pulse abx if you are taking a cyst-buster like flagyl or tindamax. It seems to me that you should keep hitting them hard with a cyst-buster and combine it with doxy or cipro.
Some people cannot take a cyst buster for various reasons so the pulsing makes sense.
In my most recent tx, I was on Biaxin for 2 months and got back to about 75% of my pre-lyme state.
After that 2 months period we decided to pulse as opposed to taking a cyst buster (allergy to meds and body needed some down time from meds).
So for about 9 weeks now I have been pulsing. Started 4 days on and 3 days off.
I just went to 7 days on and 3 days off because I was feeling like the bacteria load was getting an upper hand again and needed to hit it longer with the abx.
IME, the pulsing has created some old residual lyme symptoms (herx) to come up so I guess the pulse theory works for me and it feels quite gentle on my body.
LLMD also believes that pusling helps the immune system to gradually begin working again.
I have become very sensitive to changes in my body and can tell when I am herxing vs. when the blood suckers are having a party.
I let them party for a while and then bomb em...
