I have been taking Doxi 400mg for a month now.
I cant get past the nausea, dry heaves and
horrible throwing up. Today I went and got some
Black Walnut/Wormwood drops, Omega Brite 3 came in the mail today,
also bought Bee Propolis and Aloe Vera. Can I take all of this
insted of Doxi and how much?

Are you doing anything for yeast prevention?
You have to replace electrolytes constantly that
are being lost in cell death. You can get
replacements for diarrhea and such at any store and
they will help. Are you taking any vitamins to help
replace cell?

My thoughts exactly...
Pour in good probiotics.
Consider a "medication vacation" for a couple of days...
Meanwhile you could:
Take a minimum of 5 probiotics with a full glass of water one hour before a meal 2x/day for a week...then "maintenance".
This is called a "loading dose".
The water dilutes the stomach acids (which might destroy the beneficial bacteria) and the "timing" allows them time to reach the bowel...to set up "house-keeping".
Don't be afraid to go off Doxy for a short time. It is now believed "pulsing" abx. maybe far far better anyway.
Which means a few days on...a few off of abx.
Healing STARTS in the GUT. We have to have a healthy gut to absorb nutrients that are needed to fight...to make hormones, enzymes, neurotransmitters, etc.
Consider getting your hormone levels checked (girl ones).
The burning of the hands and feet might be a sign of peri-menopause/ osteoporosis.
Your age?
On a neuro board a MD (supposedly...who knows on the internet?) suggested for similar symptoms:
"chest xray or ACE blood level, vitamin B6 levels, ANA and anti Ro/La antibodies for inflammatory problems, thyroid function tests"
Thyroid...often goes "hypo" with lyme. Testing is not always accurate.

My wb came back everything is =. I have all
the symptoms of lyme i think. I dont have joint pain or
anxiety/depression. I do have burning in hands and feet, but most of the burning pain is in
my head that doesnt go away, throwing up makes the head worse.
I dont know what to think anymore! The doxi makes me
sick and i didnt have this problem prior to. Thats why I thought going the herbal way would be easier
on me IF I HAVE LYME?

Be sure to take doxy with loads of food -- I used to take it after a big meal. That can help to eliminate or lessen nausea.
Be careful about the advice from lymenetters as well; take everything that you read with a grain of salt (or skepticism).
Be sure to read alot and speak with your doctor. All of us posting here are not doctors, and some posters will advise others with great conviction and authority when they really do not have the knowledge or basis to do so.
For example, unless you are extremely ill, I would definitely check in with my lyme literate doctor before taking a medication vacation for several days, as one poster suggested above.

I was also going to say to make sure you take the doxy at the END of a meal. I got very sick on doxy before I discovered that I must take i at the end of a big meal.
Sorry you're feeling so bad. I've been there.

I have tried taking doxy several times and have yet to succeed.
I need to be functioning well enough to eat 3 meals a day and doxy doesn't allow that.

My son fought horrible nausea for many, many months on Doxy and other abx.
Papaya tablets (chewable) and ginger root capsules taken together work well.
If natural stuff doesn't knock it out, my son tried everything, I mean everything natural and prescription and finally he was rx'd (by his primary md) - Reglan and it worked.
Also, my son said chewing peppermint gum helped w/nausea too.
Make sure you are eating as much as you can when you take your doxy and don't lie down for at least 30 minutes after.

I found that unless I had a good amount of food in my stomach,I always threw up, so I'd recommend e\taking doxy with or just after a meal.
