I'm having a HIDA scan on my gallbladder in a week and my doc tells me there is a high percentage of Lyme Patients that wind up having the GB removed because it not functioning properly.
Is this because of antibiotics or because Lyme destroys it.
Also, if it is not working properly and bacteria is dumping out in my system could that cause a false positive on my Igenex test?
Have any of you retested for Lyme after your GB was removed?

- Is your doctor a LLMD? Is he a member of ILADS?
If so, and if rocephin is considered, there is a drug to take with it to help protect the gallbladder. Most LLMDs know that. With the right precautions, you and your gallbladder should be fine.
In addition to the Rx, there are also some good supplements that can help. And, with rocephin, it's also best to go with a SLOW DRIP rather than a faster one or rather than a fast push.
No, a sluggish gallbladder will not create a false positive lyme test. There is no need for repeat testing. The GB has nothing to do with the way the test turns out. -

The rocephin was from another doctor before I got to the LLMD. It wrecked my GB.
I guess I'm just hoping it's not Lyme, I have heard there can be false positives and since I am having such a bad time with the GB and I also had oral steriods for a month prior to seeing the LLMD I thought one of these might produce a false positive.

- I've never heard of false positives in someone with on-going and active lyme symptoms. I've heard of doctors who think every positive lyme test is false, though.
Glad you have a better doctor now. Good luck. -

Can someone tell me what the symptoms of Gall Bladder problems are? I have googled it but I haven't found that much information. Where would you feel pain exactly if you have gall stones? I am on IV Rocephin and I'd like to know what the warning signs are.

Do a search either on Lymenet or on google for a liver/gall bladder flush. If you have gall bladder sludging or stones from the rocephin, that will take care of it. Of course, go get tested, too.
But you can definitely get rid of stones painlessly this way---or sludge. I've done it tons of times, and have taught clients to do it for decades. When I had gall bladder sludging from rocephin recently, it took care of it.
On the steroids---whew; I'm sorry to hear about that. It's unbelievable how many doctors know nothing about Lyme and about steroids---almost all doctors.
False positives don't exist in my book!

Try gallbladderattack.com. I learned a lot there when my gall bladder went off. I didn't have the classic pain in the right shoulder, but had horrid stomach attacks - pain, nausea, cramps, etc., it was horrible. I still suspect that I have a pancras issue, as I have had two attacks post-gall bladder removal, but the gastro I saw doesn't think so.
After they took the gall bladder out, they found a stone that was 1 inch in diameter, so a flush wouldn't have worked for me, as the duct that the stones need to go through is tiny.
It sounds like you really do indeed have Lyme.
Good luck with the GB stuff!
