"Indications are that while in Florida, Figueroa apparently started to feel the effects of a tick bite he likely received while pitching in the Midwest. While getting treatment for the bite, and possibly Lyme disease, his lupus was discovered."
It Would be good to send notes to the journalist.
If Im not wrong the baseball player from Under Our Skin was misdiagnosed with Parkinson's.

Lupus is often lyme or a type of lyme, according to my primary lyme teacher.

How tragic! God bless his family and friends.
Lyme is often misdiagnosed as Lupus. I wonder if he had coinfections that went unchecked and untreated?
This news breaks my heart. This shouldn't be happening!

The "lupus" was discovered at the last minute. Says to me that Lyme was the biggest factor. I wonder if he had ehrlichiosis?
Really sad, and he had such a young family!

How sad for his family that the education and training needed for lyme & co is killing and destroying today.
Oh, Lord when will this change?

Hearing something like this just makes me crazy. My daughter was dx'd with lupus, too. Didn't have it of course, it was lyme.
My heart goes out to his family. This is a tragedy.
Hubby had a friend/workmate die back during the summer and I know it was a TBD. They first said he had RMSF and then changed their mind. After he died they could give the family no explanation. So so sad.
He had been dx'd with CFS years ago. Always in the woods and pulled ticks off all the time. Tried to tell him but you know how that goes.
Sorry to get off the topic here but it just hit a nerve I guess.
