After dealing with it for years I broke down and went to pain management.....
First tried neurotin, tremedol, one other they use for fibro don't remember the name ...then vicindin...then the dr wanted to do methadone cause none was working.
I did not agree with it and would not take it and the pain managment guy gave me a month supply of percocet. Told me to find a new pain dr. He cannot and does not like working with me if I cannot stick to his methadone treatment...which did nothing either..
He didnt even know what lyme was I had to tell him.
Im in unbearable pain all the time. MRi showed disk bulging and deteriation.
Im at a loss and miserable as to what to do. Is all the pain from retreatment and a herx cause its only getting worse.
Any help please...I also have a machine they gave me that puts out electronic somethings to my pain areas a tens unit...and lanacane patches

I have been down your road. The only thing that helps me is Ms Contin. Did they suggest that. It is not a sythentic and does not come with Tylenol or any of those addtional ingredients.
yes it is a narcotic. But that is what I had to do. and still have to do .. ... I know one day i will be able too stop because as other symptoms get better i have better pain days too. It is all tied in.
My doctor knows about Lyme and is very supportive. He is a pain specialists. Maybe you can call around and find someone else who does know about lyme and will be more supportive??

PS.. I do MS Contin Extended Release every 8 hours. Also given MS Contin Immediate Release for break through pain. That helps me so much at night.
And some doctors just give hydorcodone for breakthrough but if that does not help you.. like it did not me.. ask about the Immediate release for break through...
Something to keep in mind as you ask about it.
