i think it's pretty unusual but i am doing rocephin 2 g 2xday, 4 days on, 3 days off. i noticed pretty fast i went downhill on my off days, so i asked llmd if i could do bicillin on days 1 and 3 of the off days and she said yeah. i think it's been helping.

Interesting that you slip back so fast. Rocephin has 5-6hours half life afair, so yeah in 3 days off it would be out of your system. But I didnt think you could feel bad so fast. Benzathine Penicillin (LA version) actually stays off in the system for very long time ( up to a month). So you can do only one shot on the off day or use short acting version (it actually reaches much higher concentration in the blood , but is out of your system in a day)

Another thing is you could use probenecid - it inhibits excretion both for penicillin and ceftriaxone

Both meds work thru similar mechanisms so it seems like a different class would be more logical, but if it is working I wouldn't rock the boat.
