I have a lot of questions about Diflucan and would appreciate any advice or comments anyone has to share.
The nurse at my LLMD's office prescribed Diflucan for one week. She said to stop all abx while on it.
What can I expect to happen? Will I notice a difference and be able to tell if it is working? Is a one-week course enough?
After I finish the Diflucan should I take Nystatin to make sure I don't get yeast again? I take a ton of probiotics now. She didn't mention anything about Nystatin and I forgot to ask.
Thanks a lot for your help.

im on diflucan 200 mg a day for a month--while on antibiotics from my llmd--it also supposedly kills cyst form of lyme-- diflucan is systematic antifungal, so it goes everywhere whereas nystatin doesnt so u should be good w/just diflucan, i assume

I've been on ABX now for 7 mos. Have been taking diflucan 4xweekly since day one and have never had a problem w/yeast yet. My LLMD and my Lnaturpath both have had me on it at the same time as my ABX.

I have been on Diflucan while on antibiotics. I was on it for 30 days. I have not beaten the yeast thing yet and need to get back on it.
While I was on it, I definately experienced herxing...made me feel pretty lousy for a while there. I believe it was a good thing, though, as it was probably killing the bad stuff off.

Thank you to everyone for your kind replies. I dropped off my rx today and will pick it up tomorrow.
It sounds like my nurse is taking extra precautions by taking me off abx for a week. It also seems like I may need more than a one week course.
Maybe on-going?
Again, thank you so much. I am really at a loss these days.
