My tinnitus is screaming, I'm suddenly depressed, my heart is skipping with PVCs constantly, my head aches relentlessly.

The depression is the part I don't know if I can stand. Add in the tinnitus, headache and fatigue. I don't know if my 2.5 weeks of treatment are almost too much. I work full time and I'm not going to stop. Period. If I could work before, I don't think treatment should stop me?! Right?! I have the week of Christmas off of meds, per my LLMD. Maybe I'll get some clarity.

I am taking Rifampin, Omnicef and Zith orally x2 per day. This is my first REAL treatment. Otherwise, I was on doxy 200 mgx2 per day for several months. I don't know if it improved my Lyme. Maybe 10% it did. Now the big guns and I think they are going to kill me mentally and physically.

Any insight, should I hang in there with the meds. I don't know which one is causing this tinnitus and headache, but if I could get rid of that - I could deal. Help!

I would definitely blame the Rifampin for the headache. I had a terrible experience with it.

If you are not already doing so, I suggest you squeeze fresh lemons into water and drink lots of it. Lemons are a natural cleanser, per my now famous lyme doc. When the meds are killing off a lot of germs, we really need this cleansing.

Doc told me to eat 4 lemons per day. I was told to do this throughout lyme treatment.

This will hopefully help some of your symptoms.

Also, you can take epsom salts baths. It draws the toxins out of your skin. Use hot water and keep adding hot water to keep bath hot. 1 cup of epsom salts. Go right to bed afterwards. I did this on my worst days.

I would also call doc's office about headache and tinnitus on Monday.

Treatment will make us feel worse at first. You may have to take a few days off from work due to this. But, meds can also sometimes cause unbearable side effects. When that happens, you have to let the doc know and he will change your meds.

Hope this passes speedily for you.

Thanks so much. I am sitting here with my heart flipping and flopping in my chest. PVCs I suppose, but it leaves me winded, like my breath has been taken.

I can live with that, but the tinnitus is the main thing I cannot live with. I am afraid it will stay. From what I am reading, tinnitus is often made worse by zithromax. If so, I quit, because it's a deal breaker.

I will try the bath, although I haven't taken a bath in a year because the heat makes me feel worse. But, it may be different now. I will try the lemon too, but I don't know if I can eat it, eek. I'll try though:)

Yep, i'm trying to decide what is tolerable herxing and what is intolerable side effects. It's difficult.

Just squeeze the lemons into water. You don't have to sit there and eat a lemon. You may be surprised how much this helps.

Hi Hope--

the ear Ringing gets old perty fast-

One thing I did to help was to have the radio
or TV on to help cover up the Ringing -
It helped me alot--

Drink as Much warm tea as you can-
Gallons per day-

Adding lemon is a Great thing to do too --

Doing this helps flush out the bad toxins
from your body and will make your herxes
to lessen somewhat --and allow your body
to heal faster --Jay--

Talk to your LLMD about the tinnitus. zith can cause this. It's also possible that it's a herx. But you don't want permanent tinnitus.

Took me a long time to realize I didn't have to suffer so much during a herx. For most herxes, they were reduced with a coffee enema, activated charcoal and exercise.

Hi Hope,
I was on zithromax and still on omnicef. I had some major ringing in my ears when on zith.

Do take the lemons and activated charcoal as they help a lot.

My LLMD also said to take extra C as it helps with the herxs.

I know how you feel. I felt worse after starting treatment.

If you need anything, please let me know.

I have been on treatment almost five months and sick for 6before starting treatment.

Saunas and the gym somehow help.

I'll send you a big hug. Janice [Smile]
