I tried taking the first 2 in DesBio's lyme series.

This is the only homeopathic i ever took.

I can't get past the alcohol. I decided not to take the 3d dose. I decided alcohol is too harmful and that homeopathic is not for me, if it has to have alcohol in it!!

I had trouble with this "series" years ago - I think for the same reason.

I ended up rubbing it on my wrists.

Contrary to popular practice, do NOT use boiling water. It can work with some tinctures, but not all (roots and vines are okay but if the tincture is from flower or leaf, the heat can destroy it).

And, as for if it would work with a homeopathic, I don't know but it could destroy it.

Call them and ask about taking it in water, or holding it in a shallow dish, swirling it around to help dissipate the alcohol.

Ultimately, I did complete the series but was not helped at all and got worse. I have two kinds of porphyria and even the small amount of alcohol in tinctures is too much for me. It's a very concentrated alcohol and I understand it's used as preservative.

You might ask the company if they can make a homeopathic with SALINE / water instead and TRADE it. This is so much money to just toss out.

I'm sure they would want to know the problem you are having and work to resolve it.

But when I've been told by this or that ND who was not LL or porphyria literate that the alcohol "should not bother" me - clearly they simply did not understand that it really can.

I hope you find a solution. If not, return it for a refund.

BTW, I know of one holistic LLMD who does not want his patients taking any tinctures with alcohol as he thinks it's just too much for the liver of patients with liver damage from lyme.

==========

You could put the homeopathic solution in a vial of the tiny pellets as a way to take but the dosage would be different.

A very good LL ND (naturopathic doctor) might be able to guide you.

Thank you, Keebler, for the excellent advice!

It isn't money wasted because i didn't actually buy them for ingestion.

I actually got them to use with a PE-1 LED photon device, to shine photons on the solar plexus while having the homeopathic nosode taped three fingers below the sternum, as Selma does.

I just thought i'd try ingestion since there's a month wait before a PE-1 will be available.

Thanks for the other ideas,

Polly, I wasn't sure if you noticed, but I'm not sure if posting your full real name on a forum is the best idea. [Smile]

Pam and Keebler, the only way I can think of to eliminate all traces of alcohol if you want to ingest any homeopathic is to find someone with a Remedy Maker (or remedy `copier') device. The frequency of the original remedy can be `duplicated' into plain water or into plain, untreated sucrose tablets.

(Google White Mountain remedy devices and you should find the White Mountain website if you don't know what I'm talking about.)

Just a thought.

Seek--- If you think that's my real name, you haven't read Stephen Buhner's book "Healing Lyme"!

It's an herb! Polygonum cuspidatum! Also called Japanese Knotweed or Hu Zhang.

My wife had trouble using Spiro for the same reason. Too much alcohol. Her mouth would develop yeast as soon as she had used it for a while.

Too bad, because it was working quite well for the short time she used it.

Remedy copier is producing radionics, not homeopathy as far as I know. Some people got good experience with it.

When I bump into something else than homeopathics, I rarely get a better energetic test for it in comparison to homeopathics. I can even do the test blind folded while in the pharmacy...

I'm still to see something radionic testing better than homeopathy or EQUAL to it to get convinced.

I would go on homeopathics, that has 100 years of history, instead of radionics that is new and still not very well known.

I would simply do a further homeopathic dilution at home and take this dilution instead of the original, as I said above. It acts almost the same way as the original dilution.

Diluting and succussing, that is how your remedy was originally done. So why not re-doing it at home? You eliminate the alcohol almost to nothing, and you make your bottle last muuuuch longer than if you don't dilute it.

Hand made homeopathics are said to work better than machine made homeopathics. So, why not giving a try? Cost is zero.

Dr. Mercola has a recent article on homeopathy. This is THE type of medicine that was and will be in central target by the pharmaceutical industry. It can really chalenge any medicine. And cost is next to zero.

These spagiric remedies from Pekana, I also don't find them as good as most homeopathics. But maybe it's just me and my body not reacting to these stuff as well. Another person would, who knows.

The only one I like is the one that helps candida toxins (Mucan).

True, Selma - it is radionics, not homeopathy. But it seems to be effective.

It's the only way I can think of to eliminate all traces of alcohol, aside from contacting the company to see if there are other options.

I know an ex-Naturopathic Doctor who used a lot of Pekana products. I would email him and ask what he might recommend about the alcohol problem, but he and his wife are gone for a few weeks. [Frown]
