hey all i was just prescribed flagyl 250mg for the 1st time. i will be taking it in conjuction with Doxy which i have been on since 10-15-09

100mg 2x day. now LLMD says to take doxy and flagyl 3x day.

i haven't started it yet and was wondering what to excpect...herx, etc.

It can be very helpful, or a complete horror story.

Plan on a herx at about day 3 or 4. Start drinking plenty of water with fresh lemon juice in it. (Cut up lemons and squeeze them into the water.) Per my now famous lyme doc, this will lessen the herx. It worked for me.

I had about 3 days of feeling bad followed by about 4 days of feeling half bad. That was my herx on flagyl.

Continue the lemons and water throughout lyme treatment. It cleanses the body, so it is a natural detoxifier. That's how it lessens the herx.

I took 250 mg flagyl 3 times per day while taking high dose amoxicillin. It got rid of my lyme.

Flagyl for me was burning skin and sobbing.
