Has anyone here gotten cholestyramine from a compounding pharmacy so that it is clean and without aspartame, etc? If so, where did you get it and did they either take your insurance or provide you with proper papers to file yourself?
Thanks!

Scott-
Dr H had me find a place that I could get it w/o sugar and additives, but would have cost me about 100$ month.
If you want the #, let me know, I assume you could submit it, although I am unsure.

Yes, that's the same place I suspect. They wanted 120 a month and they refused to give me a universal claim form to submit to insurance. They wanted me to mail them a request with a SASE to get the form filled out instead of just doing it the first time. So I am scouting for other options instead of giving hard earned money to a pharmacy that doesn't care if we get any of it back. Thanks

Sounds like the same place. Ill check w/ my wife and we can compare notes. I'll send you the name tomorrow, she is out right now.
I would like to know an alternative source also if you find it.

Have you guys tried Wellness Pharmacy? It is mail order and I get all my compound meds there like T3 for thyroid and B12, Bicillin ect...
They have tons of stuff there and I choose them for there quality and cleaness of their products. I even had an NP tell me she really likes the fact that their products are so clean. Sorry cannot tell ya what the price is for Cholestryme as I am not on that one.
Not sure it is ok to post all of this but here is the number too. 1-800-227-2627 BTW I have no relationship with this company or any others.
I get an invoice or rather an Rx slip and a receipt to just send into insurance and have not had a problem getting full re-imbursement except for the shipping. If you need to ----just tell them you want a universal insurance form too.
Hope that helps.

Lionville Pharmacy sold it some time ago. I would want cholestyramine without phenylanine because this adds to ammonia.
