My LLMD suggested this and I don't know if it's worth the $$. It's fairly expensive.

He also suggested Oxy Powder and its also not cheap. Just didn't know if anyone knew whether one worked better than the other or any thoughts....?

I should add that they are both for constipation.

I've never had this problem, but I'm on an anti-worm medication and it's like a freakin' cork!

No, I'm on stromectol (ivermectin). TMI warning, but I haven't gone in over a week! Yikes!

I'll ask my mom to get me some smooth move tea. Thanks.

Sorry, I have not tried either of the products you mentioned.

Have you tried Miralax? You can buy it OTC. Take one cap full twice daily until you get your bowels moving regularly again then back down to one cap full daily as needed.

Also, make sure that you are drinking plenty of water.

We have Miralax here so I can try that first. The only reason I'm hesitant to buy the happy tummy and oxy powder is because they're about $50 each.

That's a lot of money to pay to produce a BM. [Roll Eyes]

Have you tried Swiss Kriss, taking at least 2 of them? It is herbal, but slightly stimulating to the bowel, so you might want to start with 2 before you go up in dose.

I also really like stool softeners like Colace, but buy the generic, because the brand was literally double the price and ridiculously expensive, last time I checked. CVS has generics of it.

The tea and Swiss Kriss are basically using the same active ingredient, from what I can remember. But I have used both, and I found Swiss Kriss to work better, though the tea works too...it's just a little weaker.

My doctor recommended these too, and I opted for the oxygenated magnesium and it did work for a little while. I didn't buy oxy powder though because it was so expensive. Try to look around for different brands/forms of magnesium oxide (I think that's what oxy powder is? Check first!!). I finally found one huge bottle that wasn't too expensive. I'll do some search for a link in a little bit.

P.S.

Happy Holidays [Smile]

I'm trying, if possible to stay away from laxatives, but I don't know if that will work.

I thought oxy powder was just mag oxide, but it has a few other ingredients which apparently are what make it work.

I think I'm going to just buy the oxy powder and then if that doesn't work, I'll try the happy tummy #2.

The thing is I have to be careful because I have a stomach ulcer and gastritis...the latter flares very easily if I take anything too harsh, so I'm thinking its best to stick to my LLMD's recommendation.
