I seemed to have gotten rid of many of my lyme symptoms (knock on wood) lately but a new one popped up right before Christmas.
One day, literally one day, I woke up and could not see my pc screen clearly. Then I noticed that everything was blurry off and on throughout the day. Sometimes my eyes would be clear and then it would just go blurry!
I am 45 and do have bad nearsightedness but this is occuring with my contacts on. And I just got eyes checked in Nov. How could this happen so quickly and why so inconsistent if my prescription had actually changed?
Does anyone else have this symptom and if so do you know of anything that helps clear this up?

I've learned for me that this is a blood sugar issue.
Can also be adrenal fatigue related.
Clean up your diet. Watch the carbs. No gluten or wheat.

This just happened to me the last few days. I have had it off and on, but until lately it was better. I now wonder if it is a blood sugar issue, since I ate too many sweets during the holidays.

At one point when I was battling Lyme, I noticed blurry vision. I went to the eye doctor and found out that my contact prescription had changed. What was strange, though, was that the prescription had just been checked 3 weeks earlier. The Lyme made my vision worse ridiculously fast, so it's possible that that is the case with you as well.

pepper, I am wondering if the same thing is happening to me.
My vision was just checked in Oct but it is so bad that I cannot function normally. I am going in to the eye doc this week.
The strangest thing is that it is pretty clear sometimes (mostly morning) and then other times I can hardly see at all.
Is it normal not to be able to see your cell phone screen?? I text a lot so that is driving me nuts. I am 45 and close up reading and tiny print is difficult but this is crazy!

Yes, I go through this all the time too. My eye docs can't find a thing wroong either.
I've heard that Mangosteen juice does wonders; I'm still trying to find a good place to get it at a good price--hubby's out of work and we do not have any extra cash to throw around.

I am your age and have had this problem. I have disposable contacts and if I get a new pair, the problem goes away. I think I am going through the contacts quicker than I should, but I have to be able to see.

I have this problem too, eye dr. says it's probably due to eye dryness caused by autoimmune issues, keep eyes hydrated with sensitive eye tears drops. I notice it does clear up when eyes get wet i.e. crying or adding drops. Give it a try, safe and can't hurt. Use sensitive eye no preservative labels. Thimerisol is mercury and is the preservative in alot of contact solutions and eye drops. May irritate.

I've been dealing with this for 10 yrs now. Maybe 7 yrs ago my vision changed 3 times within one year.
Typically my vision changes every year, sometimes I need more strength, sometimes my vision improves and less strength?
I'm a contact wearer for distance and cheater readers for up close. I tried mono contacts but my lyme brain couldn't figure out what to do.
I found the thread on Bloodshot RED EYES interesting. Mention of bart and hyaluronic acid from health food store. Check it out.

Yep-me too. I had nearly perfect vision for my age (same as you), but since Lyme, definitely downsliding.

I have this problem too. Been taking eye drops daily for dry eyes. My eye doctor said my eyes were some of the driest eyes he's ever tested.
I've started drinking mangosteen juice (pure) made by Genesis. Doesn't taste too great but I mix it with my vitamin C (liquid) and prune juice so I really can't taste it when it's all mixed up.
I do think it's helping some because every morning when I get up my eyes are blurry, but after drinking my mangosteen juice they seem to clear up.

This is so odd...i have been having this same problem. It has been really bad over the last week or two. 3 different times i have lost the vision in my right eye for about 30-45 min each time. I also have blood shot eyes all of the time. Mr regular eye dr can not find anything. I am going to call a specialist tomorrow. Maybe it is herxing but do not want to take a chance.

It only makes sense if you are having inflammation in your body/head etc due to this illness of lyme & co....your eyes also will have inflammation...then you have vision issues.
My first appt with my new eye doctor (my old one had left the practice, her parents both had lyme, she got the eye involvement), I asked him some question and his response was "if one had a auto-immune illness".
So began the education from me the patient to this young eye doc.
angrob75, I've never come close to losing vision. I would freak out even with 30-45 minutes. Yes a specialist is in order.
