Has anyone here ever used this topically? On scalp?
If so did you buy a shampoo or just mix it with lavender and use?
Supposed to have anti-fungis and anti-bacterial properties that could help to reverse hair loss.
Hmmmm

- As with all essential oils (including lavender oil), Tea Tree oil should never to be used directly on skin as it can burn the tissue.
However, for a small patch, applied with a Q-tip, for a mosquito bite, just ONE drop of Tea Tree oil applied directly on the bite itself for the strongest antimicrobial hit can be good and also calm the itch.
However, if rubbed on a wider patch of skin, it can burn a layer of skin right off.
When used like that for a bite, It's best then to cover with a band-aid so that the hands don't touch the oil and then later touch the eyes. I've done that and it can take forever for the eyes to settle down, even with flushing.
If used directly on the scalp, Tea Tree oil could endanger the eyes, as this stuff is very slippery in nature and does not stay put.
It's best to buy a shampoo with Tea Tree Oil in it - as they formula will be safely mixed.
I've added a few drops to a shampoo bottle before but at first I did not add enough and then I got too much in it. Mistake.
You can search a few of the Tea Tree oil sites and see what they say. Dessert Essence is one line of products but don't know if they make a shampoo or have instructions for adding drops to a shampoo. -

My husband uses Nature's Gate Tea Tree Conditioner. They also make a shampoo.
