Hi Guys,

I guess I'm wondering how many people here take

an ADHD med for brain fog/concentration? Which do

you take? How often do you take it?

I take Vyvanse, as prescribed by my LLMD, though

have been on a ton of other meds for brain fog

(before I even knew what brain fog was) over the

years. Vyvanse is insanely effective and cuts

through the fog like no other drug has for me.

However, I'm concerned about the effect of taking

stimulants on adrenal functioning/fatigue. Does

anyone have any insight into this?

Any info is appreciated!

Thanks,
Lisa

Is your LLMD ILADS-educated?

How long have you been treating lyme? When diagnosed?

Are you also taking good adrenal support and liver support, too?

Curious, I just looked up a basic site about it in case others want to know a bit more:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisdexamfetamine

Lisdexamfetamine (L-lysine-D-amphetamine; sold as Vyvanse) is a psychoactive drug and stimulant prodrug of the phenethylamine and amphetamine chemical classes.

Its molecular structure consists of dextroamphetamine coupled with the essential amino acid L-lysine.

. . . .

I take Adderall, 15 mg, up to 4 times a day as needed, but I don't take it every day by any means, only when I have to go out or function and really need the extra help. It can make a huge difference.

Keebler,

My LLMD is Dr. R in NY, so yes, ILADS-educated. I

take a ton of adrenal support and I take liver

support 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, etc.

Tracy,

It's great you've found something that helps and

it's also wonderful that you don't have to take

it daily. I take Vyvanse pretty much daily,

otherwise I'm pretty ineffectual as a human being.

Thanks for your replies!

Well, we're all different. With envy, I looked it up but saw that I can't take it due to a seizure disorder.

I'd say as long as your LLMD is working with you on this and your LLMD is also working with liver and adrenal support that - with time and when the lyme or other infections are finally under control that you may not need this anymore, or a lower dose, etc.

I think if there were anything I could take that would not send me to the moon, I'd embrace it and just do whatever necessary to offset and down side.

Good luck with your overall treatment.
