I should know by now, but I don't. I have had a red dotted rash (looks like measles) on both lower legs and some major heel and foot pain.
Is this Bart, I think it is. If so, please baby me and tell me what abx will hit it. I haven't seen my LLMD in a couple months, am currently only on amoxycilin once a day.
I know, I am not being a good patient. I guess I just got a little "dr appt burnout." I'm gonna go next week. Thanks all.

It sounds like bart. I get pinhead size red dots that look like tiny blood blisters. Schaller's book has pictures of them and it is bart related. Do you have other symptoms such as hot flashes, headache, sensitive dry eyes, or feeling you need to urinate a lot? Most of my prominent symptoms are emotional and cognitive such as feeling disconnected from my life and others, depression, irritiability and lack of motivation. You can check our your skin for other symptoms such as pea size brown marks, loss of pigment, "stretch marks" that are often red or purple, broken veins, spider veins, lumps under the skin that hurt when pressed, swollen parts of your body that do not dent when pressed - can't remember the rest.
Anyway there are several treatment options. The most powerful drug and one of the most dangerous is levaquin. If you cannot tolerate that or you feel it is too risky, rifampin is usually combined with another drug like biaxin, zithro or bactrim to fight it. Don't waste your time with herbs as they are not effective.
When I began treatment (both times) I had strong emotional herxes. I hear others experience the same thing. Good luck. I hope you don't have it but if you suspect you do it is best to treat sooner rather than later. And keep at it as if you have to quit before you are well it seems to become more resistant and harder to get under control - my experience anyway.

Neff, you are awsome...thank you so much. Yes to the headaches, and sensitive dry eyes get a HECK yes! And I pee and pee. Even if it's just a small amount I feel it. Wow, you have been a wealth of info.
I know there is info on this site about everything, but sometimes the "everything" is so overwhelming. I really appreciate the response.
I will check into Rifampin plus Biaxin. I have been on Biaxin alone before. God bless you.

Our daughter has Bart, erlichiosis, Lyme.
She pees frequently. It has gotten a bit better since treating. Headaches have greatly improved too.
I have read the urine frequency gets better with Lyme and Co. treatment.
She also has red dots of arms, but Dr. says not Bart. I wonder though.
She takes Rifampin and Minocycline.
Best of luck , Jane

I have a rash of tiny red dots all over my lower legs that comes and goes.LD says clinical diagnosis of Bartonella.I'd love to see others' photos, especially snailhead: My rash does not look quite like any of the ones online. I have had alot of neuro and some cognitive issues. They and the rash are at low levels right now, I think due to Factive. Take care Kris
