After 75 days of antibiotics, I have c diff. I just started on 125mg vancomycin 4x per day.

I have not seen any improvement in symptoms yet.

For those of you who have been through this, how many days after you started treatment for c diff did you notice improvement? Thanks

Make sur eyou are OFF other antibiotics and that you stay off them for a good long while,if not, forever. Were you not taking Florastor to prevent this? All Lyme patients are supposed to be on probiotics and Florastor to prevent this from happening. Now that its too late and you have c.diff, you have to stop your Lyme treatment (with the exception of Flagyl (oral) and IV Vancomycin.
Iv Vanco will NOT work for c.diff though.

You might need 250 mg Vanco 4x per day. Make sure the dose is taken for atleast 6-10 weeks and then use the taper protocol to come off of it so you do not relapse. Relapse rates for c.diff are extremely high because of the production of spores.


If you are not already on Culturelle and Florastor...get it!!
