I have detox issues/likely methylation problems/very chemically sensitive etc. and so far have crashed on both herbal protocols and my first attempt at abx/pharmecuticals. I can't tolerate alot of heat right now i.e. baths, sauna, etc. too dizzy and sick.

Dr. K recommends the Toxaway Ionic Footbath I believe. Does anyone know where you find it online?

Do the Ionic footbaths really help detox/work?

What is your experience?

i saw this on tv and they said it helped some people, didn't others.

goggle foot detox baths scam. there's an interesting article that says it's a scam and you can recreate it yourself.

i'm not sure i'd spend the money. i did have it done once and i paid about 35 dollars.

i think it was waaaayyyy too much.

Personally I would try to find a chiropractor or other alternative medicine doc who has one in their office. The charge is usually $30 - $50. I would rather spend a little money upfront to see if you thought the larger investment would pay off.

There are many different manufacturers of these footbaths.

Hubby has done these numerous times. Sometimes it makes him feel better and other times he feels worse. Overall probably helpful 75% of the time.

I did see someone with a brain tumor experience a seizure while doing this once in a chiro office. If you have a very sensitive nervous system that is one thing to be aware of.

I've been getting an ionic foot bath daily here at the clinic and it's amazing the gunk that's been coming out of me.

Last Friday, the doctor came in to look at what came out of me and was surprised to see some stuff that he doesn't often see. He said he was tempted to send it to the lab to see what it was.

I believe foot baths are very beneficial, but I don't think the cheap foot baths on the market that most companies sell are very effective. The one they use in the clinic is this one:

http://ioncleansedetoxfootbath.com/

It's very expensive but it really works and my body is feeling the effects of the toxins coming out. I know it's a combination of treatments are contributing to me feeling better, but I have no doubt that this ionic foot bath is doing something good for my body.

The one the clinic uses can be purchased from the company (not the clinic) on their website, but it costs nearly $3000 thousand dollars!!!! Not something I could afford to buy for sure.

I don't think the foot bath alone is going to get anyone well by any means, but it's another tool that does help the body to detox.

If you want to know more about the clinic where I'm getting treated send me a pm and I'll send you the link.

I started a thread sharing my daily experiences at the clinic. Here's the link to the thread:

Sorry you aren't doing well f13girl. I pray things get better for you soon!

By the way, I agree with Bea, find an alternative doctor who does it and see how it works out for you before investing money in buying one.

Hopefully you can find a doctor that uses a good quality ionic cleanser or it might not be very effective.

My doctor recommended one that is quite reasonable in price and good quality. I have been meaning to get it but have not yet.

I have heard various things about them and more and more good things ....

Gary.. is the water changing and getting clearer and clearer?

The colors mean absolutely nothing people....the colors change without your feet even being in the water. Educate yourselves.

Just my personal experience with them. I've had about 3-4 with my local reflexology practitioner. He's very conscientious about cleaning the bar that gets put into the water. I haven't asked him to put it in water by itself yet, just to see what happens. Perhaps next time I'll do that.

I found them helpful to me.

But, I also liked the detox footpads you wear overnight.

Best,

Cass A

A local hairdresser has one in my town, so I tried it out for $25. Soaking my feet in warm water for half an hour did make me feel relaxed.

However, it looked to me like the machine just created a lot of rust in the water that was not coming out of my feet.

In fact it made me worry that I would be absorbing metals or something that I don't need more of, because the gunk was getting ON my feet.

The hairdresser made sure to spout the company line from their brochures, but she pointed out black flakes as evidence that were way too large to have come through anyone's skin pores.

I agree it's a scam.

I would suggest soaking your feet in a container of warm water with epsom salt or something instead.

I don't know if that helps for detox either (though it might, if epsom salt baths do), but at least it's cheap and will make you feel good, and no risk of absorbing metals.

Or for slightly more money, I could have bought an hour massage instead. Those always make me feel better.

Do not spend thousands on an ionic foot bath.
