What is an adequate dosage of Rifampin? I keep reading 600mg, but is this twice a day, once a day, etc?

when I took it, it was 300mg 2x a day.

It worked for me.

My llmd has me do 300 mg once a day in the evening for the first week. The second week, I go to 600 mg once a day in the evening.

Rifampin is tough! I take it with doxy and the nausea is so bad at first. Be prepared!

I do 600mg once per day in the evening.

Some doctors prescribe this way to get a high peak dose, rather than a steady dose all day. The theory is to hit the infection with a high dose.

It has helped me.

I also started low and worked up to full dose. No big problems.

2x300mg taken all at once. One of those little things I had to learn on my own as with most things and this disease--it has been so much more effective compared to spreading it across 2 dosings.

Ok, most take Rifampin 600mg once a day. What about the abx paired with it...do you take that only once a day also?

I take it with doxy (200 mg 2x day) but this does make me nauseated. Lately I've been doing only 300 mg daily.

I think most take it with doxy.
