I haven't posted here in about 8 years. So, here's a brief background. Was treated for Lymes in 1996 and 2001. Basically the drs didn't know what else to treat me for. Both times, my first symptom was tremors and shaking all over the body. In 2001, the dr. was not an LLMD, but did believe in chronic lyme. I got treated for 3 months and symptoms did go away and I have been good since then.

In Dec. of 2009, I had a root canaled tooth retreated. It was awful and I had very severe pain afterword. I was put on clindamycin for a week, the added a pred pack, and then was on augmentin for a week. 3 days after the augmentin was done, I started getting the tremors again. Since then I have had some heart issues, muscle fatigue, insomnia, and anxiety. I have seen 2 neurologists, had lots of blood drawn, and an mri. Everything has been normal. The drs don't really seem interested in the past similarities and are blowing it off as anxiety. My thing is, I do have anxiety now, but it is not what started this.

I do have an appointment with an LLMD on Feb. 11th. But, then I start doubting that this is even what's wrong with me. I am so scared. These tremors are driving me crazy. They eased up yesterday for a bit, but now are back. I have three kids, and I can't even keep up with them. I guess I'm not sure what I am even asking for here, besides maybe some hope.

Oh, and yes, I never have tested positive for lymes. I did just recently have the western blot done at my clinic (which I am sure is not very accurate) and on the igg bands 28 and 41 came back--but I know that is negative.

Thanks for listening,

Karen

Hi Karen - I'm really sorry to hear this. Not happy you're back on this site, but we all understand....

Sounds like your Lyme has become active again. Nothing like a trauma to do it and root canals are definitely in that category.

Try not to fret too much and please go see the LLMD you spoke about and made an appt with. Get yourself into treatment and stay with it! Don't quit, or you could find yourself in the same boat again. Most of us posters have had, or are in progress of long term treatment of one kind or another.

Please post to us whenever you need to talk to someone. As you already know, lots of info here. Hang on, help is on it's way. I know it's scary.

It does sound like it could be the Lyme. I'm glad you have an LLMD appt coming up soon. In the meantime you might try to detox more to take off some of the toxin load, maybe that would help your body to be able to overcome some of the infection that was stirred up by the dental work/abx.

Hang in there. Let's hope that since your body seems to be able to live with the infection and keep it down low enough to live a normal life that you'll get back to that point quickly.

Thanks for the advice. I know nothing about doing anything to detox--could you point me in the right direction to find out more about that?

Is it possible you still have infection in root canal'd tooth and that is aggravating your underlying condition? Many advocate pulling root canal teeth if you have a chronic medical condition or can even be root cause of issues.

Tremors was a BIG Lyme symptom for me. Especially when I am herxing hard. Glad you are getting to an LLMD... you are long overdue. *hugs* You're gonna be alright.

BTW... my worst symptoms came on after a very traumatic tooth extraction two years ago. Then it was like, out of nowhere BAM.. all these awful symptoms! I had the heart stuff, tremors, muscle twitches, flight or fight response to every little noise, ... you name it.

It really does sound like your Lyme was undertreated and now it has become active again.
