my LLMD increased my zithromax to 500 1x day and added Mepron. I've researched it and some of it is scary. Some people report that they are dizzy and can't drive and feel like their on drugs a bad trip! I have never done drugs and am not looking forward to any mind altering experience. I have 2 young kids who depend on me driving and doing full time MOM routine. I feel better on the increase of zithro but know that mepron might bring me closer to the FINISH line, but am sooo afraid to take it. The color is a turnoff, and some mention that you need to eat with a high fat so it can be absorbed. any and all INFO would be helpful on adding MEPRON to my daily schedule and Kicking LYME out of my LIFE...starting to get SOOOOO tired of this. Been treating for 6 months and seems it might never end...Jenn

I'm on it right now with no problems.
It might make your hair fallout... but that's about it.
Of course you might herx on the Zith/Pron combo.
But if you freak yourself out over abx's... then they WILL cause you problems.

Jenn -- I am on Mepron with no drug like feelings at all. The only side effect after 3 weeks is my hair is falling out. BUT I would be willing to loose all my hair if it meant that I could get better.
So far, I feel Mepron has helped me improved.

Just took it....it's not bad! I held my nose and drank alot of water....the smell is familiar, but can't trace it! The color is disgusting! lol I have noticed that my hair has been coming out a little lately, more so in the shower while shampoo-ing. I'm thinking now, maybe the zithromax....because on the Mepron side effects I do not see anything about hair loss....And i've been on zithro for 4 months now...

Thanks, Just took mepron...and it's not bad! I held my nose and drank alot of water....The color is disgusting! The hair loss is not mentioned in the mepron side effects that i've have read. Now I'm thinking that my hair has been coming out in the shower while shampoo-ing a little. Definetly more than usual....I think it could be from the zithro i've been taking for the past4 months..I have to look into that....good luck, and keep me posted!

Mepron never made my hair fall out...but it did make me extremely tired and sleep longer. Worked great though.
