My head has been hurting all over for days, some days worse than others - Ibuprofen takes the edge off.
I've also been nauseated off and on but mildly so.
My neck hurts especially when I look down, but it aches all the way into my shoulders
The last three days I have had increasing issues with numbness and tingling in my face, it's getting worse.
I've also noticed a worsening in unclear thinking and brain fog.
I'm on Biaxin, Bactrim, Mepron and Welchol, been on this combo since the middle of December. Don't feel like I've been making forward progress with this and am wondering what in the world else I can try - more orals? IV?
What is the best for recurring Lyme Meningitis?
Do these symptoms sound like meningitis? What were yours?

The absolute worst headache imaginable - I could only crawl, and barely that.
Vomiting over and over, very stiff neck, couldn't stand any light at all.
The symptom that really stands out for me was the headache - I thought I would die from the pain.
Have you talked to your LLMD?

I have meningitis right now, just got out of the hospital.
Severe headache, so bad I cried and wished I could cut my head off, no meds would touch the pain
Severe neck pain
Pain all down my spine
Shoulder and pain across my upper back
Severe pain across my lower back like someone hit me across my lower back with a baseball bat
Nausea and vomiting
NO fever, unusual but obviously possible
VERY sensitive to light and sound
Exhaustion, could sleep all the time, slept 16 hours straight and then could go right back to sleep
No appetite
Extremely weak
Sunburn type rash on chest and face/cheeks
Difficult to look down, touch chin to chest
Difficult to turn head side to side
I have had meningitis now for 12 days. I am still in bad pain but not as bad as it was when it started and when I was in the hospital. I cannot stress that it was the worst pain I have ever had, definitely right up there with childbirth.
Right now the pain has been escalating again and I'm not happy about that part.

Going to see LLMD today - was lucky to get an appt! Hope to get some answers. Thanks for the replies.
If this isn't meningitis, then I guess it's either this abx combo not working for me or maybe I've just had the worst and longest (1.5 months) herx of my life???

Aseptic meningitis was my diagnosis-got it about 5 days into the illness. Severe headache, couldn't move my neck, vomiting. Horrible!
Keep us posted on what you find out.

When I went into the hospital with what I now know was Lyme meningitis I felt so bad I kissed my children goodbye because I didn't think I would live through it. The head & neck pain was like nothing I ever experienced and I had to hold my neck perfectly straight and only rotate my head manually to look to the side. My temp was 102+ and I developed the initial bullseye rash site on my left thigh. About 10 days later the rash intersected in circles over my entire body. Thinking back to that time in life is how I am able to be grateful for how I am living today. Nurse Lymy
