Hi All,

I've read many a topic on this board and am very thankful for all of the knowledge here. I became symtomatic 4 years ago and was "successfully" treated w. abx. Went on to have my second, healthy and lyme free, son. Great symptom free pregnancy, but have been going downhill now since his 1st bday.

I'm working w. a good llmd, but it seems like this time my body just does not want to tolerate anymore abx. Not to mention I think I'm dealing w. some yeast since falling off the sugar wagon *doh*. So I need to get my butt in gear to take back my health and am thinking of trying rife and herbs this time. I've no experience with either. I'm reading Buhner's book and it sounds doable for me. I'm also interested in the emem 5a? since it seems the only machine in my current price range. Any advice, etc. on either the herbs or rife would be extremely helpful. I just want my life back so my boys can have their Mommy back:( Thanks all.

Jen

Sorry you're back. [Frown] Please get OFF THE SUGAR!!! It FEEDS the bacteria!!!

I'd try an anti-candida diet - no sugar or simple carbs, eat coconut oil, onions and garlic. See if it helps. Candida can have similar symptoms to Lyme. Maybe try some oregano oil or grapefruit seed extract .... both are anti-fungal but also antibiotic. Part of your sugar cravings could be due to the candida and/or bacteria.

I loved Buhner herbs. Don't do much for coinfections though. The "core" herbs my LLMD had me on were cat's claw, banderol, andrographis, and resveratrol. I'd start one at a time at Buhner's dosages, that way if you have a reaction you can tell which herb it was and determine if it's side effect or herx.

If you have GI issues, go slowly on the resveratrol .... learned that one from experience.

Good luck. I hope you can control it with herbs this time. I'm not a doctor, just passing on what I've learned ....

Thanks sixgoofy. I read some of your blog recently, very inspiring and gives me hope! I did the anti-candida diet before I got pregnant and it helped tenfold! Then, I guess I gave into pregnancy cravings and took for granted what I knew I needed to do for long term wellness.

I have some grapefruit seed extract here I'm going to try ramping up on, it makes me herx, so I have to go slow so that I can function during the day for the kiddos.

I have another llmd appt. in a couple of weeks, so I'm doing my best to get my information/research lined up before then so that we can have a good discussion and come up with a good plan of attack.

Thanks for your reply!
