My family is going to start oil pulling. I'm having trouble finding organic, cold pressed sesame oil.

Can anyone tell me where I can purchase it?

Thanks!

Hi I buy mine through Iherb when I buy all my other supplements. There are other sites if you google. Here is a link:

a natural food store.

Or google "spectrum" sesame, organic oil and hopefully you can find a source in your area or order online. That's the brand I get from "whole foods", our local chain of health food stores.

We just purchased some three days ago at our local health food store. My wife was only able to do it for eight minutes each time so far. You're supposed to work up to fifteen minutes if I remember correctly.

She said that it pulled some infection out of her throat and feels it's helping her. Seems like a weird, thing to do, but lots of people seem to benefit from it.

Bigstan and Lightparfait,

It looks like the oils you recommend are unrefined oils. When I looked on www.oilpulling.com, they recommend refined oils.

Do you know what the difference is, and why one might be better than the other?

Thanks,
Steve

FYI: my friend who has been oil pulling for several months...and doing it one to two times a day, for at lease 20 minutes a shot...is now having some problems, she believes related to it.

Originally she was able to move bacteria, viruses, etc...and knew she was clearing candida. Her health was very positive and felt very clear mentally and no issues...

Now she feels she is moving metals...and the metals are not leaving...but moving...to other locations. Creating some very bad mental hallucinations she believes. Bipolar type patterns, out of the blue!!! Very scary to her.

this may be coincidental...but she does not think so. She has only been oil pulling and never had hallucinations or any voices in her head until now.

so please do not do this for long...and do not exceed 5 minutes max...before spitting it out I would recommend...just my thoughts knowing this situation!

I feel I have to warn others that moving metals could be a possiblity for some. When toxins are in your mouth...and they do go there...they can get reabsorbed...especially if they are just getting swished in your mouth for 20 minutes...moving around..

I recommend taking a binder as well...as my friend did not...like chlorella to bond to the toxins and metals and take them out throught the gut...so not to be reabsorbed.

I am no expert at all. just be careful.

And they should be organic expellier pressed oils...I thought Spectrum was unrefined expellier pressed...I may be wrong...dont' know the name brands of the best for this purpose...but they need to be pure and free of toxins.

Is it ok to do the oil pulling if you have amalgam teeth fillings? Is this how metals could be moved around?

I sure wouldn't be doing it with amalgams. Just chewing, brushing your teeth or drinking hot beverages causes them to release vapors.

Regarding oil - my dentist recommends using coconut oil for oil pulling.

I have been oil pulling just over a month once a day first thing in the morning. I pull while I am in the shower which is about 10 min.

I notice near the end of the 10 min, I'm unintentionally swallowing so I spit, and brush.

Oddly enough I thought my teeth would be whiter and clean of plaque but after visiting the dentist he said I had a good amount of plaque and tarter which I never have had in the past and my teeth don't look whiter.

Anyways that's my experience.

I used the spectrum organic sesame oil, unrefined.

And I do not have any amalgam fillings anymore.

That's what I thought. The amalgam fillings are probably the culprit of my ongoing yeast infection. I don't know when I can afford to get them removed. I have a total of 9 teeth that have them.

I tried pulling and couldn't keep doing it because the sesame oil made me nauseated. It left a weird nauseating taste in my mouth even after brushing my teeth that made me feel like I was going to puke.

Do you HAVE to use sesame oil? Is there some other kind of oil you could use for pulling?
