Has anyone had bruising on their knees?? My husband has had alot of knee pain and stiffness. All of a sudden today he has dark brusing on both knees. This has happened before slightly and went away but today he said it is darker then ever before. Wondering if anyone else has had this happen and why? Such strange things always seem to happen with this disease. Could it be the bactrim causing it do people think?

I can't answer your questions as to why, but My knees swell and right knee actually bleeds under the skin.
In cold weather they pain me more. Family picks on me and call me "Gimpy".

This happens to me. I am on bactrim and rifampin, but I don't know if it has to do with the medication- I thought it was just somehow related to Lyme.

The only sort of "rashes" I would and do get are bruise type of things that appear on my body.

Back in 2004 ,when things got ugly, I got big bruise like rashes on my legs after I was bitten by a couple of ticks.

Now when I am herxing or having a flare up I tend to get small bruises on my body that go away pretty quickly.

I attribute it to lyme - can't be 100% sure but that is what I think. TG
