I have been taking 1mg of Ativan to sleep for a while. My LLMD just switched me klonopin. I asked about equivilency. He said they are just about the same. I am not sure.
Does anyone know if 1mg of ativan is like taking 1 mg of klonopin?
I looked on the web and I am confused.
Thanks, Kathy

I guess I will just play around. Think I really did it big last night. I did sleep, but today is weird.

I have taken klonopin off and on for 5 years.
The only thing I make sure of, and this may not be an option for you, if I put 48 hours between doses...in other words, i take a does every other day. This way, it doesn't have a chance to build up in the blood stream and you avoid addiction (in my case anyway).
I am actually going to take one today because my anxiety has me practically clawing at the walls. Not good. Every other day may not be an topion for you though if you need the help everyday.
For me, i have my good days and my bad ones so i can put time in between doses.

klonopin stays in your system longer than attivan. true, they are both benzos, but attivan has a stronger inital response, and then tapers off more quickly....
