I am on IV Doxy (I have RMSF and Ehrlichia). But I believe my main brain problems are from Bart. I have an appt with LLMD in about 2 months.

Has anyone tried these 2 together?

Thanks

I have not personally used them together but I know from speaking with my LLMD that they can be combined.

I am on IV Doxy as well (I have Bb, Ehrlichia, Bartonella, Mycoplasma). But I'm afraid of Levaquin. So I've opted for Zithro and eventually Rifampin if needed.

I'm on Zithro every other day. It doesn't seem to help much. I tried Rifampin and almost died. I'm afraid of Levaquin too but I may just have to give it a try because I am running out of options.

Understood! I'm really nervous about Rifampin, too. Apparently it increases metabolism of some of the meds I take and could cause real problems (I have Addison's). So we'll have to see what happens.

There are lots of people that take Levaquin without any trouble. And the good news is that it's super-effective against Bart!

Are you loading up on Magnesium now? My LLMD told me (when we were considering using Levaquin) to take 500-750mgs each night for at least a few weeks prior to starting it, and continue that throughout the duration of treatment.

Wishing you the very best with your treatment. Sounds like the Levaquin is a must for you right now.

Why are you doing Zithro every other day? Is it oral? I think my LLMD is planning on doing 500mgs IV every day for me...

Oh. I am on oral Zith. I started taking more and got ringing in my ears. My doc told me to cut back. It probably isn't doing anything at this point.
