i have a question and was wondering if anyone has experienced this and could give me some ideas.
a little history: about a year ago i was at work and lost all control of my left arm, just went limp. i'm left handed and as for strength i'd say i'm close to a decent weight lifter.
now when i lost control of my left arm i was rushed to the hospital for fear of heart attack. after all the tests i was told it wasnt a heart attack and my heart is in great shape.
since that episode a different dr. told me i have lymes disease so i was getting treated for it.
now my problem, i have no strength in my left arm, i dont have enough strength to use nail clippers, i have a hard time arm wrestling a 12 yr old. my right arm is strong as an ox now. also my pinky and ring finger have been numb/tingling/very little feeling since that day at work
anyone experience this? any ideas?

Hey there..
Yes, weakness can be a problem with Lyme.. and one-sided weakness is not uncommon.
To see if it is a structural problem, you may want to see a chiropractor. They may be able to address this, depending on the cause.
Hope you find some answers and feel stronger soon!!

I have had arm weakness very often and it is very unnerving when it is bad. Not even enough strength to hold a small bowl of food, brush my teeth, use a knife, wash my hair, and yes it is always my left arm, or primarily my left arm.
I think tincup is right. Seeing a chiropractor regulary and massage and such does help it. Never in 12 years of this found the exact reasons it gets worse or better or exactly the cause of it. Robin
