I'm currently having the same issue with spasms in my ribs. It seems to be more frequent when I lie down. And the spasms are only on my left side. But they seem to be on or under my ribcage. I was taking Magnessium Glycinate. I guess I need to start up again.
Any other suggestions would be great!!!
Thank you

AW Massman give me a adj. and I give you a
sugarless sundae. We know that kind of help works.
Weezies looking for other things to help too. I
wish It only cost me a sundae to work it, but
suspect it is something I may be lacking setting it
up in the first place.

I had costochondroitis twice now with the illness- and this last time it seemed to be a one-sided rib pain. It went away with treatment. The first time I had it it was in the center of my sternum, and acupuncture made it vanish.

(my post now edited, I was saying something similar to what Merry said)
Interested in the pain path that you mentioned--- what is the difference with the pain following around the front of ones chest or when we take a deep breath? I get the kind of pain that is really in the back ribs and does feel sore when I take breaths in. Not anything in my lungs and my heart is fine but wondering your opinion on that type of rib pain?

Merrygirl - when I post I try to remember to say IME (In My Experience) or IMO (In My Opinion) so others may get where I am coming from.
Maria - you do not have to edit your post. But...including all chiros as being the same + adjusting the same is not too fair.
You know I recommend specific mixed herbals for specific reasons. I also recommend specific chiropractic techniques for adjusting certain problems.
Assuming all chiros adjust the same is not too fair. As I have stated before I have repeatedly searched for methods that produce good to excellent results in most cases.
Ever had massages from different practitioners ? There can be great differences for sure. Same with chiro.

massman- I do not need a lesson in how to post. I try to help out when I can.
when you recommend chiropractic techniques and specific herbs, what experience do you have other than selling herbs which I gathered from a different post? Are you a chiropractor? ND? maybe you should make that clear.

I have made clear before that I have been a Massage Therapist for 26 years and a DC for 23 years.
Do not currently sell herbs. Have been a rep for specific mixed herbal companies in the past. That occurred because of studying with Dr.U who has studied extensively with that very well known Dr. K from WA.
Specialized in computerized assessment, allergies, hormones, ADD / ADHD and some work with autistic kids. And adjusting.
But here it seems that one persons experience with themselves provides much more insight than a professional with thousands of patients with generally good results.
I have recommended books to further peoples education but these have been ignored. I get ZIPPO from anyone for recommending herbs, docs or books.
I have lyme + babs. Got excited when I got good improvement from what I used.
Stacy - ribs can present with different types of pain patterns in different people. Talked to my ex-wife last week that had pain in the front, along the side and in the front. She wasn't happy. And I can't adjust her from 750 miles away.
Ribs should move a little in a certain pattern when you breathe. If they cannot move well you will often get pain.

A good chiro helped my rib pain out. I have one that slips very slightly out of position, but that slight slip gives me horrid muscle spasms and pain breathing in.
Once it is adjusted, it takes a day or two for the pain to subside and you gotta be careful not to jar it too quickly afterwards.
