Have you seen this done? Have you read about it? The links would help.

Under the guidance of a good LL ND or LLMD, this might be good but specific blending would be important to prevent heart rhythm irregularities that can occur with high doses of glycyrrihizin. I would imagine that whoever does this has that base covered and I'd love to see what you've read about it.

Licorice is discussed in this article as being helpful against the lyme toxin:

--------------------

www.townsendletter.com/FebMar2006/lyme0206.htm

From the Townsend Letter for Doctors & Patients, February/March 2006

BIOCHEMISTRY OF LYME DISEASE: BORRELIA BURGDORFERI SPIROCHETE / CYST

by Prof. Robert W. Bradford and Henry W. Allen

Excerpts:

. . . A discovery of great importance relating to a toxin produced by the causative agent of Lyme disease, Borrelia burgdorferi, has been linked to a similar toxin produced by the organism Clostridium botulinum (botulism). . . .

[extensive explanation of] * Lyme Disease Toxin . . .

[2/3 of the way through the article] . . .

Inhibitors of the Lyme Spirochete Toxin

A large amount of work is being conducted today in an effort to uncover more inhibitors of the Lyme spirochete toxin.

One known inhibitor of toxin activity is the substance glycyrrhizic acid (GA), the active principle of licorice root, used in Oriental medicine for thousands of years. 12 *

GA is also the active principle of the American Biologics product, Biorizin. The molecular structure of GA includes a steroid with large bulky substituents.

Being a large molecule, GA is capable of binding into the active site of the toxin, thereby blocking the normal substrate, two adjacent amino acids in the protein SNAP-25. (See Chart 8 and Chart 9.)

. . . .

- Full article and great photos at link above.

-----------------------------------

NOTE OF CAUTION: While this is an excellent article regarding the information about the spirochete/cyst, there is one serious caution with one of the treatments suggested: Bismuth.

Bismuth, in various forms or methods of use, can (and has been) fatal. So, cross that off your list. If you download the article, please copy and paste this note to top your page.

Reading - and learning - about the nature of this infection is invaluable. The authors offer much in that regard, I just wish they'd adequately cautioned bismuth.

Specially prepared (filtered, etc.) Garlic Extract has been used for a long time as an IV in China. And some LL NDs use it here in the U.S. for serious infections. Many other herbs, too, are incorporated to balance a formula. I've never heard of IV licorice before, though. I find it fascinating. I'd love to learn more.

It's not like shoving a garlic clove into a vein, the garlic is specially prepared as a solution first and put into vacuum-sealed vials, just like other IV substances. It is usually never the sole substance in the IV as it can be caustic if not balanced.

I'd rather have a garlic IV that than an IV of stuff that was made just out of chemicals in a laboratory.

With a garlic IV, it also handles a wide range of infections, include fungal infections and protozoa, etc.. Antibiotics don't have that ability to also deal with other kinds of infections. It's also easier on the liver.

But, as with garlic capsules, garlic IVs also have that aroma thing going for the patient. Still, some very remarkable successes have come from garlic IV use.

Yes Glycyrrihizin IV is being done successfully especially for XMRV retrovirus by LLMD in texas. PM and I can give you info. Needs to be done twice a week and can be continued in local LLMD willing to order protocol.DO NOT USE BISMUTH AS ITB IS A HEAVY METAL!!
